A fun few days! Made these super yummy pumpkin muffins for guests and did some touristy things with my niece. Who picked me up some Brewer gear because the Milwaukee Brewers won the NL pennant and are World Series bound!!! (This also made me look 100% like a tourist…LOLOLOL!!!)

We usually don’t serve meat here. In fact, I think we’ve only ever served meat once and that was in a breakfast wrap. However, I have had a taste for biscuits and gravy. So, this morning we actually served meat! I’ll be eating this for my lunch today, but I hope everyone loved it! It was totally made on the fly, so the biscuits I made are a cream biscuit. Super delicious! And I used a little more than a pinch of the Tabasco pepper pulp. (Aside from LOVE that is my secret ingredient)!

New books!!! Tonight I’m starting Mazywood by Tananarive Due!!! So excited!! I read the Reformatory a while back. I loved it! I expect I’ll love this one too! I also bought the new Stephen King, Peter Straub book! In all honesty, I actually thought Peter Straub was dead. Good to see this is NOT the case! But also, learned he was born in Milwaukee. I was too! So that was exciting! My plan is to read Ghost Story next. I remember the movie vaguely, but I found a paperback copy that looks exactly like the paperback copy we had when I was a kid. I don’t know why I bought the Sun Dog. But somehow it found its way home with me. LOL-cuz I have a serious problem when it comes to books. Some would say I need Jesus… LOLOLOL!!! Anyway!!! Go read a spooky book! And support your local booksellers!!!

We have no check-ins tonight, so your innkeepers are taking a well deserved relaxation day! We started with a fun bike ride (I made mine Halloween themed!) and now we are eating lunch and watching a scary film! You lot can guess what film we’re watching! (It’s pretty obvious from the photo, never mind the glare… LOL!!!)

Those of you who have stayed with us already know you will not leave here hungry. We love food here. And we love to bake and cook. This morning we made a roasted tomato quiche which has become a standard for us. I switched up the crust and I feel like this quiche is perfection. It’s an all butter crust with half water half vodka. Flaky AF!!! (And you know it’s good when I’m throwing abbreviated swear words around on my business page-in real life I seriously swear like a sailer…LOL!!!) The cheese was a blend of sharp provolone, Parmesan and Jarlsberg. That last cheese is not a normal thing for us to have around, but we had bought it for a dinner we made. Anyway, it added a nice little nuttiness to it. I need to find me a quiche contest and enter this quiche. It really was that good!

We had a fun time at the Autumn Moon Festival. This is one of my favorite things to do in Windsor, and it gets bigger every year! And on our way back to the house we took a few picks of our pretty trees and yard! And also of the park by our house! We still have some decorating to do, but we have been very busy! (Something we are very glad for!!)
