A trip to the Dells and a waterpark traditionally go hand in hand, so we decided it was time to go a little old-school and spend the afternoon at Noah’s Ark Waterpark.

I’ll admit, I’m not really a wristband-waterpark person. But I do love a sunny day, sparkling pools and some excellent people-watching- and Noah’s Ark was a lot more fun than I expected.

What surprised me most was how BIG it is. 70 acres! From the road (near the Grateful Shed) you really have no idea how far the park stretches behind everything. Once you’re inside, it just keeps going. Pools, slides, shaded areas, sunny spots, food, drinks, adult beverages and different areas for different ages. You could very easily spend the entire day here.

And there’s something kind of impressive about a place that has been part of the Dells for so long and has continued to grow into America’s Largest Outdoor Waterpark. It feels energetic and lively, but also like they genuinely care about making the day fun and engaging for the people who come through the gates.

We visited during Noah’s Ark’s Dells Community Day and had a chance to meet some of their team and learn a little more about the park.

So now I’m curious...

Would discounted Noah’s Ark tickets be something you’d like to have available when staying at Orange Tractor Retreat?

🧡 OTR Out & About

My daughter and I stopped at Daylene’s Supper Club on Lake Delton with no reservation and a very simple plan: sit outside, have a drink and order a few appetizers.

And I really liked this place.

Their patio is beautiful, with lots of seating, fire tables for when the evening cools down, and a great view of the boats traveling back and forth on Lake Delton, including the Original Wisconsin Ducks® cruising by!

We went with the Sips & Apps approach: a margarita, a mocktail and a few things to share. It was such an easy, relaxing way to spend the evening.

What stood out to me most was the atmosphere. The outdoor space has a lovely, calm vibe that feels a little removed from the busier side of the Dells, even though you’re right there on Lake Delton watching the boats (and the Ducks) go by.

Next time, I definitely want to make a reservation and try dinner inside... I’ll let you know when that happens!

OTR Out & About 🧡🏒

This week’s Out & About is a little different, but one we’re very happy to share.

Orange Tractor Retreat was proud to support the recent Double A “Assist” Foundation Golf Outing with an OTR swag basket for their fundraiser. We weren’t able to attend the outing this year, but we were very happy to be a small part of a great event that raised money to support youth hockey players in Southern Wisconsin.

The Double A “Assist” Foundation was created by the wife, children and friends of Andy Allamian, a beloved husband, father, friend and member of the local hockey community, to honor his legacy by providing the ultimate “assist” to young hockey players — helping with scholarships and equipment so financial barriers don’t keep kids off the ice. The organization is especially close to us because the people behind it are dear family friends, and I’m proud to serve on the Foundation’s Board. It’s incredibly meaningful to see Andy’s legacy carried forward in a way that gives more young athletes the opportunity to play.

Congratulations to everyone who helped make this year’s golf outing such a success!

🧡 OTR Out & About: Live Music at The District

Perfect weather, live music, good food and drinks — pretty hard to beat a summer night at The District!

We headed over to hear Rayna Marie Music, with our family friend Saul Flick joining her as a special guest. The weather could not have been better, and The District has such a fun, easygoing atmosphere for an evening out.

Good food, good drinks, a really cool outdoor setting and great live music made this one of those nights that reminds us how much there is to enjoy around the Dells.

Definitely another spot to add to your list when you stay at Orange Tractor Retreat!

We have a trained team who shoot in the same style, so if it's ever not me behind the camera, you're still getting the photos you booked us for.

🧡 OTR Out & About

This week's adventure took us to Dells Raceway Park for Saturday night's races - so fun!

This was my second visit, and it's one of those places where you immediately feel welcome. Friendly people, Spotted Cow, burgers, brats, chicken tenders, and the excitement of race night... it's a great way to spend a summer evening. (And so many little kids with headphones on as big as their heads!)

My first visit last year seemed like it was a younger/newer driver racing event, and it was so much fun watching the crowd cheer on their favorite local kid. Last night's races had a completely different feel. The cars were fast, the competition was close, and there was plenty of excitement from the green flag to the checkered (with some yellow flags mixed in)!

Whether you're a lifelong racing fan or just looking for something a little different while you're staying at Orange Tractor Retreat, Dells Raceway Park is a fun local experience that's well worth checking out.

🧡 OTR Out & About

This week's adventure takes us just down the road to one of Baraboo's special places: The International Crane Foundation.

We first discovered the International Crane Foundation when I became a member and the Orange Tractor Retreat owners attended An Evening with the Cranes last summer. We enjoyed it so much that a couple of weeks ago I brought my mother-in-law back to experience it for herself.

It's hard to believe this world-renowned conservation organization is right here in Baraboo! You'll find cranes from around the world, fascinating exhibits, so many prairie wildflowers, peaceful walking paths, and inspiring conservation efforts that are making a difference across the globe.

Whether you're looking for a relaxing afternoon or simply want to experience something unique during your stay, the International Crane Foundation is well worth a visit.

🧡 OTR Out & About

This week's "Out & About" stayed close to home. We weren't out exploring, just enjoying a summer evening with our kids and their friends (who somehow became adults overnight!).

One of the reasons we fell in love with this area is that it isn't always about attractions or busy weekends. Sometimes it's games, a cookout, goofiness, and watching another beautiful Wisconsin sunset.

We're grateful to call this place home, and we love sharing this beautiful area of Wisconsin with our Orange Tractor Retreat guests just up the road!
