There is a light at the end of the construction tunnel! I apologize to anyone we needed to move or cancel. We will be good to go for 2026. Happy first anniversary of Hurricane Helene hitting Siesta Key. Our condo is still being fixed but will hopefully be back to beautiful shortly. It's been a long haul. Until then, here's a sunset picture from the thousands I have.

It isn't pretty, but it will be in time! Just reordered some furniture and did a walk-through with the contractor to talk about finishes and changes. We still do not have a timeline for finishing, but I will update as I know more. I have blocked reservations through June just in case it takes long. (There is one on the books for June that I am not addressing yet. If that is yours, I will contact you!)

Thank you to those who were on the books for January through April for your understanding and rebooking for next year! Here is a sunset picture for you from Friday, 1/17. (This week has been cold and rainy.)

Just a quick update on our rebuilding progress from Hurricane Helene. The initial mitigation - removal of kitchen base cabinets, water heater, bathroom, interior doors. and 2-4' of drywall - has been done. We are now entering the "whitebox" stage where the contracted team will reinstall the drywall and the shower pan. Still uninhabitable at that point. ☹️ Then our finishing contractor will be able to come in and replace the floors, doors, cabinets, water heater, bathroom tile/toilet/shower, doors.,, With 72 villas in the same boat, and many using the same contractor, it is hard to nail down a timeline. I have emailed any guests who are reserved through April and have blocked reservations until June. Hopefully our beautiful villa will be open before then, but I would rather be cautious than need to cancel more reservations. Rest assured, if you are a yearly guest, that your spot is being saved for next year! Looking forward to the day we announce we are open for rental!

Hi from D03 and sunny Siesta Key! Hurricane Helene was a very rude guest! She did a lot of damage throughout Casa Blanca. We didn't have as much as many other villas, but we still need to do some reconstruction. We don't know how much yet. We only had a few inches of water into d03 but it was enough to cause seepage into the drywall. It looks like we'll have 2 ft of drywall removed and possibly our base kitchen cabinets and bathroom cabinet will need to be replaced. Also, there may be damage to the back wall of the shower from water that got in from the outside. Time will tell. Casa Blanca has a remediation team doing the tear out and rebuild of anything that is part of the structure and then we need to do the finish work. We have our contractor lined up, but it's a wait and see if we need new cabinets, timing to get those, timing for the work that the contractor will need to do, along with him having many other clients in the area. We threw out the water soaked rugs and moved everything but the furniture into storage. Meanwhile I'm having fun pre-shopping for some new items to dress D03 back up.

So much sand in the roadways! It reminds me of a northern snowstorm where they've plowed the snow into piles, but there's still some left in the road. All of that sand needs to be removed and treated before it can be returned to the beach.

If you have a reservation with us in the next few months, we will keep you posted. We'd certainly understand if you chose to find another place for 2025, but we truly hope to be open by February. We'll be happy to keep your spot for 2026 if you choose to not take the risk. We should know more in the next couple of weeks and will keep you posted. ⛱️😎☀️

Hi from the sunny side of two hurricanes! Casa Blanca sustained quite a bit of damage that will take months to fix. Nearly every unit had some damage and all will require removal and replacement of drywall, possibly cabinets, or more. Helene caused serious surge of contaminated water with villas closer to the beach getting 4' of water inside. Those of us closer to the road only had inches of water, but still had seepage into the drywall. So, there won't be any rentals for the next few months. But we will be back and look forward to hosting you then in D03.
