, tucked into Battery Park at the V&A Waterfront, is Chef Nolu Dube-Cele’s love letter to South African cuisine.

Inspired by the traditional Sunday “seven colours” plate — where staple, protein, sides and salads all come together — the restaurant brings that same feeling of community to the table.

Think Xhosa-style slow-cooked chicken, beef potjie, umngqusho, chakalaka, fresh magwinya stuffed with mince and malva pudding to finish. Everything is served family-style, so you dish up, pass it around and actually enjoy the meal together.

Even the drinks celebrate local talent, with Black-owned, female-led South African brands like HER Wines and Tolokazi B**r.

Such a fun experience! Now I’m inspired to visit Sutherland and see SALT, the largest telescope in the Southern Hemisphere, too. ✨
