💋 Someone’s been giving our trail cam some kisses! 🦌❤️

Have you ever noticed that a waterbuck’s nose is shaped like a heart? 😍

Here at Ubuntu Luxury Villa, wildlife encounters are part of everyday life. Our trail cam captures the many animals that wander past the villa, each bringing a little piece of the African bush right to our doorstep.

A little refresh at Ubuntu Luxury Villa! 🐆🌿

The past week has been all about giving Ubuntu some extra love, with fresh paint in the bathrooms and outdoor showers, a refresh of the outside walls and outdoor furniture and the deck, and a few other maintenance jobs to keep everything looking its best.

And of course, we couldn’t resist adding a few styling touches along the way!

Our Ingwe (Leopard) Room has a freshly reupholstered chair with even more leopard character, the living room cushions now feature a subtle giraffe print, and our favourite animal, the leopard, makes another appearance on the sofa.

It’s all in the details — a little more wildlife, a little more character, and the same love for the African bush that makes Ubuntu feel like home. 🌿

In the wild the road belongs to the animals. 🦓🤎

During a little self-drive through the wilderness area of Hoedspruit Wildlife Estate, this zebra had decided the middle of the road was the perfect place to enjoy some shade.

And who were we to argue? 😉
We simply stopped, waited and enjoyed watching him.

After all, at Hoedspruit Wildlife Estate, the animals always have right of way. 🌿

Did you know you can enjoy the wilderness area by car, by foot, by bike and even by horse? We have mountain bikes for rental at the villa and we have an equine house on our estate.

A little piece of the South African bush, all to yourself🇿🇦♥️.

Mornings start with coffee and the sounds of the bush.
Afternoons are for a refreshing dip in the pool, a good book or simply enjoying the view. And as the sun sets, the African bush comes alive in its own beautiful way.

At Ubuntu Luxury Villa, there’s room to breathe, time to reconnect and space to enjoy the little things that often turn out to be the most memorable.

We thought our water bowl was there for the wildlife to enjoy a refreshing drink… 🐗💦

But apparently, this warthog had other plans! After coming for a drink, he decided to use all his strength to turn the entire bowl upside down — spilling every last drop — and creating his very own mud bath. 😂

Because why simply drink the water when you can completely redecorate the place and turn it into a luxury spa?

Just another unexpected visitor and one of those wonderful little moments that make life at Ubuntu Luxury Villa so special. In the African bush, you never quite know what might happen next!

There’s no greater compliment than knowing Ubuntu Luxury Villa and South Africa have found a special place in our guests’s hearts ♥️🙏🏼

“One last look into the garden, breathing in the scent and trying to spot the animals. We don’t want to leave!!!

Because what a wonderful place, so atmospheric and everything is just right.

We have had an amazing time here and felt a sense of peace that simply isn’t there in the Netherlands.

But unfortunately, our time here has come to an end.

Thank you so much, Dennis, Anouk and Jackie, for all your help, tips and attention. ❤️

South Africa has, partly thanks to you, gained a special place in our hearts.

Back home, we can look back on two very beautiful weeks, during which we did and experienced so much.

And fortunately, we still have the photos :-) What a wonderful new hobby: capturing wildlife with the camera.

Not one. Not two. But THREE. 🦡🦡🦡😍

We thought our recent leopard sighting was pretty special… but then our trail camera caught something we definitely didn’t expect.

Three honey badgers visiting our waterhole together🤗

Honey badgers are elusive, tough and usually solitary animals, which makes this sighting all the more incredible.

This is what we love about having a waterhole right here at Ubuntu Luxury Villa. You never know who might wander in during the night… and sometimes, the trail camera captures something truly unforgettable. 🐾

A leopard was already amazing.
Three honey badgers? Absolutely magical. ❤️

IT’S NOT JUST A VILLA…♥️

Of course, Ubuntu Luxury Villa is a place to stay.

A beautiful home in the heart of the bush, with a private pool, 3 bedrooms, a deck overlooking nature and everything you need to slow down.

But after all these years, we’ve realized that Ubuntu Luxury Villa is about so much more than the villa itself.

It’s waking up to birdsong.
It’s spotting wildlife while having your morning coffee.
It’s taking a swim with the bush all around you.
It’s watching the sky change colour at sunset.
It’s gathering around the fire as the sounds of Africa come alive.

And sometimes, it’s simply sitting quietly and realizing that you don’t need to be anywhere else.

Because the most special part of Ubuntu Luxury Villa isn’t what you find inside the villa.

It’s what you feel inside when you’re here 🫶🏼✨🇿🇦

Every month tells a different story… 🌿🐾

July brought an incredible variety of wildlife to Ubuntu Luxury Villa, and every visit to our waterhole was a reminder that nature always has a surprise in store.

This month’s highlights included two playful genets, two different porcupine sightings—including one memorable visit where two porcupines appeared together—a young male leopard, hyena, zebra, kudu, nyala, waterbuck and many more wonderful visitors.

One of our favourite moments? Watching the trail camera footage and discovering one of the genets standing on its hind legs, curiously looking around before continuing its nightly adventure and of course seeing the leopard on broad day light😍.

These are the moments that make life in the African bush so special. Every day is different, every month tells a new story.

A surprise waiting on our trail camera 🐆✨

While our guests were out exploring, a very special visitor quietly arrived at Ubuntu Luxury Villa…

Around 11:00 in the morning, this beautiful young male leopard came to our waterhole for a refreshing drink. After quenching his thirst, he continued his journey and walked straight in front of our trail camera — giving us this incredible close-up moment.

Moments like these are why we love living in the African bush. You never know what might appear, even in the middle of a sunny morning.

A true Ubuntu moment♥️
