We’re getting close to the finish line with our three new Cluster Rooms — Weaver, Kingfisher and Hoopoe — and we’re so excited to share a little behind‑the‑scenes magic.

Tim from Zim, has been hard at work crafting the most beautiful sliding barn doors, which match our Conference Room, and all completely handmade from scratch. He glued floor planks together, varnished them to a rich finish, built a custom angle‑iron frame, and then welded flat metal strips to encase and stabilize the wood. He even added decorative cross‑bars with small bolts to give each door strength and a touch of character.

These three barn doors will slide closed when we have guests staying in the Cluster Rooms, giving everyone privacy and comfort. When the rooms aren’t occupied, we simply slide the doors open and the spaces blend seamlessly back into our space.

It’s been a labour of love — and we can’t wait to welcome guests into these refreshed, flexible spaces, which include two bathrooms and the Skylight kitchen.

We loved spoiling our Valentine’s guests this year with a few romantic surprises — from rose petals scattered on the bed to little treats placed in the rooms on the 14th of February. Only our direct‑booking guests enjoyed these extras, as most of our weekend visitors came through external agents with high commission fees. Even so, we were fully booked. Thank you to everyone who chose to spend their Valentine’s getaway with us.

Our fishpond has become one of the happiest of corners, filled with colour, calm, and a few legends of its own. Our eight koi — named by the grandchildren — each have their own personality, but one stands above the rest.
Houdini earned his name after escaping a mysterious attack that took out our first four koi. The next morning the water was wildly disturbed, and we thought we had lost them all. Weeks later, against all odds, Houdini reappeared — bigger, braver, and very much alive. Today he prowls the pond like a king, keeping watch over Dotts, Gorgenia, Ronaldo, Sugar, Eminem, Shady and Messi.
A little magic, a little mystery, and a whole lot of joy in our garden.
