Thank you for coming out to support the inaugural En Route Arts Festival.

You made questions beautiful. painted plates, wired jewlery and wrote your own stories. Explored the natural beauty of Sedgfield’s Island Conservancy, its Mosaics, and the hidden treasures of our Coastline. Strolled through art in the garden, did a tango. Participated in talks and readings, striked a Yoga Pose, and experieced the Solstice with wonderful music and poetry.

Wednesday we wrap up the En Route Arts Festival in . The Island Conservancy will host a final walk on the fauna and flora of the Island. The Diva’s will bring down the curtain on the festival with their rendition of classic numbers from the likes of Aretha Franklin, Whitney Houston and many other classic numbers.

We asked her to come to Sedgefield and she said - Yeah! Yeah! Yeah!

After seeing Amy Winehouse Diva & Her Demons in Johannesburg we just knew we had to bring this show to Sedgefield.

Performed by Kerry Hiles and her band this show has been sold out at venues across the country. Theatre commentator Billy Suter says “With dialogue, song and deft switches of accents, Hiles offers a captivating chronicle of Winehouse’s rise and fall.

This is a must see show at this years En Route Arts Festival.

Wow! Wow! Wow! what a day it was yesterday at the En Route Arts Festival in Sedgefield with walks, talks and some truly magical stage performances.

Zolie Markey mesmerised us with her poignant and moving rendition in Helen of Troyeville a dramatic treatise on life, power, priviledge and inequality. Markey will be back on stage today @15:00 at In Toto.

Marty Kintu had audiences in stiches in Pet Friendly with some clever witty lines using pets as cataphors, and pugs in this thought provoking social and political satire. The In Toto cats - Elvis and Nellie - got in on the act too and cant wait for you to see this purrfect production today at In Toto (while the Island dog parade passes by).

Andrew Buckland delivered another thought provoking critique on the digital world we live in, seamlessly and convincingly switching between various characters that make up The Fools Guide to Living and Dying. Buckland returns to the stage today at Simbavati Fynbos on Sea with his classic the Ugly Noo Noo @18:00

Smutsville gets in on the act with Humans of the Street @15:00.

Sedgefield is brewing with anticipation as our own local colourful cast of characters make their debut @15:00 today in the Complete Works of William Shakespeare (abridged) at Simbavati Fynbos on Sea.

Hello and welcome to the En Route Arts Festival that kicked off in Sedgefield today. This morning started with a walk by Sedgefield Island Conservancy to explore the plants, birds amd natural environment of the Island.

The sold out Protea Farm tour was perfectly timed as the Proteas go into full bloom.

Renowned environmentalist Mark Dixon led a tour of Sedgefields latest tourist offering - the Fossil Trackway Tour of our beautiful coastline.

Masithandane led the tour of the 81 mosaics (or more) on the Mosaic Tour of town.

Sometimes the most meaningful journeys begin with a chance encounter.

Our story started when acclaimed South African playwright and social commentator Mike van Graan was looking for a stage for his play My Fellow South Africans. What began as a single performance sparked a creative partnership that has brought thought-provoking theatre to Sedgefield year after year.

Since then, Mike’s productions have become a regular highlight on our local cultural calendar, including last year’s mini-festival favourites To Life, With Love, I Can Buy Myself Flowers, and So Over the Rainbow.

This year, Mike returns to the En Route Festival with three powerful new productions:
