Where are we?
Our property is in the beautiful Goomburra Valley SE Qld - approximately 2 hours from Brisbane/40 minutes from Warwick/ 1 hour from Toowoomba.
We're a 6th generational eco-tourism cattle property with the beautiful Dalrymple Creek running through our land and we adjoin the Main Range World Heritage listed national park (Goomburra Section).
We have 26 very large campsites (a lot on the creek front), as well as 3 different types of cabin accommodation. We also have a very large and beautiful barn aptly named 'Rivergums Barn' - purpose built for large celebrations and events.🎊🥂🕺💃🏻

SPRING has sprung everyone! September 1 and it's a run into the silly season!👍😁
We know we mention the weather boringly often on our page, but let's face it - now is that almost perfect time of year that everyone in Qld brags about so why not join in don't you agree?🤗😉
If we were forecasting, we'd probably say that this time of year is when the sun is a 'warm caress' with it's mild and comfortable rays; and that sticky humidity that makes you want to complain non stop hasn't started yet.. And BIG BONUS - the nights are still as cosy and comfortable as can be!
So it might be only Tuesday but the weekend is always on the horizon - time to take advantage of these clear skies and head bush! 😄
Fishing maybe or a lazy swim in the creek? 🐟
How about the health benefits of a long walk taking in the scenery or some fun playing ball with the kids? 🚶‍♀️🚶‍♂️⚽⚾
Rev up the 4WD for some bush bashing, krank up the barby for an Aussie cook-out, or you know what - just lol about doing nothin'.....and have fun while you're doing it, or not doing it!!👏😁

Good morning on this beautiful Sunday folks..🤗 Some rain during the week to flush the creek and give the grass a drink.. Soon it'll be non-stop mowers!🚜
We're having fun over a late brekky trying to caption this pic of 3 mischievous looking kookas balancing on one tree stump.. I mean we have more than enough to go around making us think they're planning a campsite raid or maybe even a bank heist??
Definitely up to something!😁

Welcome to the weekend folks and the last one for August.. Wahoo Spring is about to spring and the signs are eveeeerywhere..😁🤗
And the weather (which can be a controversial topic these days) is about to shift again.. let's hope we enjoy a mild few months before the 'too hot & humid' scenario arrives!☀😎
Regardless of the season - we are constantly mesmerised by the changes we see here at Gordon Country when the seasons begin to transition. The metamorphosis that happens in response to the cooling and warming of the earth, the air and the water provides two very distinct canvases - both capturing those seasonal shifts and showing us quintessential and stunning Australian nature with its incredible array of elements.
We hope the weather is wonderful at your place this weekend and that you're looking forward to some time outdoors to take in what we share with nature & all of its amazing gifts.🥰🌸🌼🌹🌷🌴🌳🎋🌲

Can we have a 'Food Friday' folks? 😉😃
We seem to get hungrier as the week goes on and that's probably because we're continually smelling the mouth watering aromas wafting across the property - yep, campfires and 'Bush Tucker'! 🔥🍳🥘🍲🥓🍗
That country/outback phrase that conjures up images of big hearty breakfasts, sizzling sausages, camp oven casseroles, sizzling pigs on a spit and 3 of our personal favorites - damper donuts & roasted marshmallows! 😋😋
We haven't had the opportunity to make things like wattleseed damper or use bush bananas, bush coconuts, bush plum fruits, wild passionfruits or that delicacy 'the witchetty grub' - BUT, we all do have our own creative streak with country campfire cuisine don't we?
Take a look at these pics and let those gastric juices yearn for a taste like no other! 😋😋

Wonderful isn't it that there are places with no Wi-Fi but connections are stronger than ever..😊🤫👏🫶
You might get that at the beach which has its own special vibe and certainly connects you to nature - but the bush has a unique way of reaching out.
It welcomes you to leave the demands of everyday life behind and just relax and rejuvenate.🤗
And it doesn't take long..
A day or two and the nervous system is adjusting to no alarms, no schedules or appointments, hectic traffic or clocking in and out of the system.. just a choice of the chair by the creek or the campfire, or the exploration 'walk and talk'.

Happy Wednesday and happy National Dog Day folks!
And what a special day it is in honor of our special friends - our beloved pooches. 💓
We all know there's nothing quite like the look in their eyes and the wag of their tail when they greet you, to brighten your day and lift your spirits..🤗
SO many shapes, sizes and breeds - they all seem to have an amazing capacity for unconditional love and how good is it that they never judge!. 😉
From the working dogs to the heroes, this day is all about paying tribute to these incredible animals who selflessly bring comfort and love, work in the paddocks, help to keep us safe, and save lives across so many spectrums from guide dogs to the military.
Guessing our little friends will be getting special treats on their special day.🐶🐾🐕🐩😊🥰

Here we are on Magic Monday and another week of adventures! 😁
Well, work and adventures that is.. 😉
We thought we'd start the week with a reminder of 'days of old'! The time honored horse and cart brings back memories of a simpler life doesn't it?
Things moved at a more manageable pace, life was a bit more predictable and 'stress' was a word you rarely heard.
So we love that the bush is in it's own kind of time warp.👏🤗
Beautiful, enduring and blissfully quiet with its organic 'big band' chorus of birds, rustling trees, rippling creek & the 4 legged harmonies of cows and horses.... 🐮🐴
Thankfully Australia still abounds with nature's fare and we hope it will always be the gift that keeps on giving. It brings to us, a sense of gratitude every day.
