For a century and a half, our sandstone walls have stood as a silent witness to the evolution of Sydney. This year, The Porter House proudly celebrates its 150th anniversary.
Back in 1876, this building started its life as Dixson & Sons’ grand to***co factory, later in 1891 housing a furniture manufacturer and famous leather merchant. It has always been a sanctuary for makers and visionaries. Today, as part of the MGallery Collection, we have woven that rich history into a modern boutique haven where every single corner tells a story.
While we are celebrating our own big milestone, we can’t help but look outward. We love wandering through our neighbourhood and admiring the gorgeous heritage buildings that surround us. It is a beautiful place where Sydney’s industrial past seamlessly meets its lively present. Next time you walk through our doors, remember to take a moment to look up because history is truly all around us.
