Chef Athul worked alongside our previous Executive Chef for years, learning the ropes and spending countless days in the trenches with this remarkable team. We are unbelievably proud of him and everyone who has contributed to the success of our culinary program.

When Athul stepped into the Executive Chef role last November, he did so during one of the busiest times of the year. Along with creating exceptional food, he was navigating a new leadership role, managing a team, overseeing ordering, and finding ways to motivate and support others through long, demanding days.
What has stood out most is not just Chef Athul's skill in the kitchen, but his kindness, attention to detail, and commitment to developing those around him. Under his leadership, the team has continued to grow together, supporting one another in the kitchen and beyond.

The result is something special. Everyone is invested in the outcome. There is a shared sense of responsibility, trust, and pride in the work. Even on the busiest days, when the pace is relentless, the burden is carried together. That spirit makes the work rewarding and helps ensure every guest experience is exceptional.

Of course, great dining experiences do not happen in the kitchen alone. We are equally grateful for our Hosts and Food and Beverage Service team, led by Sara Mofford, who collaborate closely with the culinary team to ensure every dish arrives exactly as intended and every guest feels welcomed and cared for.

And beyond that, this is really a story about the entire White Point team. From housekeeping to maintenance, guest services to recreation, and every department in between, there is a shared commitment to delivering the very best experience possible. Success here is never the work of one person. It is the result of many people working together, supporting one another, and taking pride in what we create every day.

Last week, the F&B Team helped our GM Mary Dempster host a BBQ under the White Point Tent as a celebration of the wider team before the summer truly kicks off!

Looking for a new start? We have several roles that we are recruiting for at present. Check out our website and send along a resume to [email protected].

On this Summer Solstice and National Indigenous Peoples Day, at White Point we honor the Mi'kmaq people, the traditional stewards of the lands we live, work, and gather on here in Nova Scotia.

May this season of renewal inspire us all to continue listening, learning, and walking the path of reconciliation.

Photo taken during the Flag Raising Ceremony today. Thank you to White Point staff member Tamara, and a special thank you to Elder Arthur for being with us to help us honour this day.
