Devastated that we no longer have Murphy in our lives.

Most people will know him as one half of our collie duo
“Murphy and Baloo” but he was a whole lot of dog in his own right.

Our brave lionheart;
gentle, loving, thoughtful, as well as being a tad wired at times…scissors, hoover, hairdryer, garden tools, to name but a few, on his list of triggers.

Despite no proper training, he was turning into a reasonable sheepdog….. with a secret preference to be a lapdog really.

Selective about who he chose as friends - if he ever sat on your feet, consider it an honour. It was Murphy’s way of saying he felt secure and at ease in your presence.

He loved his special lion teddy, which he liked to play with at the top of the stairs.
He liked cheese sandwiches when he went to visit nanny, and licking cream off the whisk, if there was any baking going on.
He enjoyed sharing toast on tea breaks with Helen on Mondays, biscuits from the bin men on Tuesdays and treats from David and Joni at any time inbetween!

Above all, he loved running, and bullet runs across the fields were daily essentials for Murphy. Built for speed, he was the ultimate racing snake.

Thank you Murphy for choosing to love us.
Run fast and free, you crazy diamond.

The donkeys actually love pedicure day!
Probably has something to do with the treats they get, to “encourage” them to stand nicely, whilst the farrier trims their hooves 🫏 🫏
Danny is a good boy💙but Izzy 🩷behaves atrociously, cos she wants all the snacks!! #

We drove down to the river for a quick walk and dip in the water for the doggos.
(Too hot and humid for walking !! )

There was some kind of shooting going on not too far away… and Baloo didn’t like it one tiny bit.
Headed back to the car and jumped in through the open window!

It’s ok Baloo, we can go home now…. But let’s wait for Murphy!

Today is a day for big gratitude; looking out over this beautiful, sweet, meadow hay.
For once, the weather has allowed us to give the care and time required, for some cracking hay.
Species rich and the wildflowers have been a joy - also appreciated by a myriad of insect life.
Thank you for doing the hard work: mowing, tedding, rowing up, baling, then stacking and carting, and unloading under the barn.
It’s a process!
And the sheep are going to love this stuff in winter and at lambing time 💚
