💚 Re Cabins is the only (self proclaimed) UK cabin business designed by two interior designers focused on sustainability and wellness - designing in line with the International WELL Building Standards. A design standard used to assess the quality of a building’s impact on health and wellbeing 😌

As founders, we’ve never really given too much about ourselves away (other than that we love cabins and nature) but behind the scenes we’ve always been beyond passionate about circular design, sustainability and using design to improve wellbeing.

As two designers who often design commercial design projects for large corporates, we’ve had to tick all of the ESG boxes under the sun. Re Cabins was an opportunity to take things beyond a box ticking exercise and to truly have an impact on people’s mental health, travel habits and self-care routines 🌀

We often joke that the clients we design for have become circular too. Designing for people’s mental health and sustainability in the office, but also their escape from the office. One project feeding into another ♻️

A few things that won’t change your lifestyle, but might change your life.

The UK has declared drought, France, Spain & Italy are burning, and we’ve just used up a year’s worth of natural resources in 7 months.

We’ve dedicated our careers to helping people make the sustainable choice. Whether that be through design or through eco travel. We’ve curated exhibitions spotlighting our over reliance on plastic and our underutilisation of recycling. We used to run monthly litter pick ups (maybe we’ll bring this back) and our cabins are off-grid - utilising solar as our energy source. We always hoped to change people’s mindset around holidays and travel and hoped that by offering a high quality alternative to getting on a plane, that we might influence people to travel more consciously.

We consult with clients about how to design and build according to the most sustainable principles and we design all of our buildings and spaces in line with WELL Building Standards.

But honestly, that’s not enough. This is our collective responsibility and even small changes can make a difference. 🌳💚
