HALF TERM ACTIVITY IDEA 💡

Every Halloween, the stunning Heights of Abraham in Matlock Bath transforms into something rather wonderfully spooky, and it’s just a short drive from Owslow Farm.

Perched high above the Derwent Valley and reached by a breathtaking alpine style cable car, the Heights of Abraham becomes the Frights of Abraham during October half term and it’s one of the most magical and atmospheric Halloween experiences in Derbyshire.

Here’s what you can expect:

🔊HUGE NEWS - Managed Open Water Swimming is coming to Carsington Water! 🏊‍♂️

Carsington Waterside have been working really hard to get everything in place to launch their swimming sessions and we're really pleased to announce they launch this week! Sessions are running everyday at 9:15am and 3:45pm 🏊‍♂️

Follow the 400m swim course set up for your 1 hour session. Book your £8 ticket today at carsingtonwaterside.co.uk/swimming. Your ticket price covers the cost of everything that Carsington Waterside need to make sure that swimming can take place in a safe and controlled way- qualified lifeguards, supervision, insurance etc.

Managed open water swimming will only take place at authorised times, within designated areas that are safe from underwater obstructions, where water sampling and water temperatures are measured to certain parameters and swim safety is provided by certified lifeguards.

⛔ Please note swimming is still unauthorised at Carsington Water outside of managed sessions provided by Carsington Waterside.

🐦 **It’s not just the views that make Owslow Farm special.**

There’s a whole lot of wildlife going on here too. 🌿

Just a short walk away, **Carsington Reservoir** is a brilliant spot for birdwatching, with kingfishers, great crested grebes, oystercatchers, buzzards and plenty of waterfowl to look out for.

Back at the farm, our organic fields and hedgerows are home to butterflies, bats, barn owls and hares, alongside our alpacas, goats, sheep cows and chickens.

And if you venture further into the Peak District, there are even more opportunities to slow down, look around and see what you can spot.

So if you love nature, birdwatching or simply waking up somewhere that feels a million miles away from everyday life, **Owslow Farm might just be the escape you’re looking for.**
