We’ve got a new book on our shelf and it’s pretty awesome 📖

We had a lovely chap called Martyn (trail_planner) visit us in 2022 whilst walking the coast path and a couple of years later he got in touch to let us know he’d written a book about his walking adventures along the worlds longest coast path and that The Bunker had its own little feature. We’re very proud of Martyn (and of ourselves!) 🥳

This is Martyn’s second book, his first is Tales from the Big Trails and we would totally recommend that one too. Both are available from Amazon and Waterstones or a couple of other good bookshops!

If you fancy seeing something a bit different, down the road in Poole you can hop on a ferry to Brownsea Island, see lots of birds, search for red squirrels and eat an ice cream. Plus boat loads of history.

The RNLI do an absolutely fantastic job of saving so many lives at sea, and we were lucky enough to attend an event at the RNLI college in Poole not long ago. It was a very special day for us, and we learnt so much about the lifeboats and the charity as a whole.

We’ve got a couple of rooms left for what’s set to be a jam packed August bank holiday weekend! 🌞

There are saunas available from the_islandsauna and Yoga available from sidayoga across the weekend.

You could head over to Corfe Castle to enjoy the outdoor cinema showing Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets or Friday and Paddington in Peru on Saturday - purbeckfilm

Friday has music from milkandtwoduo at Salt at Portland Marina or a quiz at Royal Manor theatre!

Saturday you could check out music from The Rock Apes and Paella from portland_paella at sweethillfarm_nearlywild.

And Sunday has The Sausage, Dog & Cider festival at The Springhead At The Pond if you fancy flinging a sausage and drinking a cider!

That’s all if you want to branch out from climbing/sailing/diving/swimming and enjoying the sunsets at The Cove House Inn Portland. Not bad, aye?!
