Well it’s Easter weekend and we are pretty busy over the next two weeks with guests. You may have missed getting to stay with us now but we have lots of availability across all the holiday periods throughout 2026 so why not check out when you can come stay with us. Remember we can have six of you stay comfortably at the cottage and stays start at two nights. We have any start date so if you want a short mid week stay we can accommodate you.. no problem. We are an easy walk from Windermere station and you will find us in a quiet corner just of the main crescent in Windermere itself. Nice walks up to Orrest Head and down to the Lake are easily done from the front door no need to move your car once parked.

The cottage is nicely starting to ramp up again with guests and with the days getting longer it’s great to be inviting you lovely lot to stay.

You will find us in the heart of Windermere just off the crescent and away from the hustle and bustle.
We sleep six of you comfortably and we have off and on street parking available to you if you are driving. A short 10 min walk from Windermere station and access to all that the Lake District can offer.
You can even climb a local fell and be back home for afternoon tea at the cottage.

Eek…Exciting news just released: The Tour de France is coming to Windermere - Saturday 3rd July 2027!
Cumbria is to host two stages of men’s 2027 Tour De France
A Stage One finish in Carlisle and a Stage Two start in Keswick have been confirmed. Are you ready for this because we are ready for you to come and stay.
The full UK route was revealed on Thursday 15 January 2026 as host towns & cities were illuminated simultaneously in a nationwide “Tour de Skies” moment, marking the next major milestone on the road to the 2027 Grand Départs - set to be the largest free sporting spectacle in British history.
Whether you are a keen cyclist, a Sunday peddler or an armchair fanatic, we guarantee this will be a spectacle that everyone can enjoy. Even more so if you stay with us 🙃🚴🏻
The route of the event journey through the Westmorland & Furness area as part of the stage 2 route which means through Windermere where our little cottage is found. So yes we are a perfect base for your easy viewing!
After leaving Keswick at the start of the 2nd stage, the riders will pass through some of Westmorland and Furness’ most spectacular scenery, heading south passing Thirlmere, Grasmere, Rydal Water & Windermere before turning on to the A5074 just beyond Bowness & heading through the Lyth Valley on to the A590 & A6, passing through Milnthorpe & Beetham into Lancashire & on to the stage finish in Liverpool.
This is an iconic event contested by elite athletes. It’s an exciting opportunity to showcase our wonderful area to the millions of you fans around world, a catalyst for strengthening Cumbria’s long term identify as a world class cycling destination, with unsurpassed leisure cycling opportunities against a stunning landscape backdrop.

So last minute checks at the holiday cottage for us today to check everything is good for our guests who are in over the New Year.
Taking a look at 2025 it has been super busy for us and for that we are eternal grateful to you all. As always it’s been hardworking ensuring each and every guest has was they need for their arrival and we are usually on hand for anything during their stay too, but it’s all worth it when we get your review feedback.
