For those of you who have stayed with Lula’s and visited the floating bar, please help by donating or at least sharing.

Bocas, we have to tell you straight: Sunday night's storm sank The Floating Bar.

The crew is safe, and we got the most important electronics out. But much else is gone, and our floating home is sitting on the bottom waiting to be brought back up.

This bar sank in a storm in 2023, and this community raised it, fixed it, and reopened it. We're doing it again.

Our full goal is $15,000 to refloat, repair, stabilize, and reopen. The page starts at $5,500 — GoFundMe's adaptive goal rises as donations come in.

The hardest part about staying at Lula’s is leaving.

This was our second time staying at Lula’s Bed & Breakfast in Bocas Town, Bocas del Toro, Panama, and once again, we left wishing we could stay just a little longer.

There are some places you stay that are nice, and then there are places that just feel like home. Lula’s is one of those places for us.

The owners are absolutely wonderful, and their staff is just as amazing. They genuinely care about their guests and go above and beyond to make sure you are comfortable and taken care of. Nothing ever feels like too much trouble. Even something as simple as making sure guests have breakfast before an early morning scuba dive shows how much they truly care.

The rooms are comfortable, everything is clean, and the location is perfect. You can walk just about anywhere you need to go in Bocas Town—even the airport is a short walk away.

But honestly, what makes Lula’s so special to us is the feeling you get when you’re there.

And, of course, the dogs. ❤️🐾 We absolutely love Lev and Buster, and we were so happy to meet their newest addition, Max, this time. Being around them makes us miss our own dogs a little less while we’re so far from home. They are such a sweet part of what makes Lula’s feel like home.

We have traveled to a lot of places, and we have stayed in a lot of different places, but there is something about Lula’s that is hard to explain unless you experience it yourself. You don’t feel like just another guest. You feel welcomed. You feel comfortable. You feel like you’re among friends.

And that’s why coming back for our second stay felt so good.

We absolutely love Bocas, but having Lula’s to come back to makes our time there even more special.

So, if you’re thinking about visiting Bocas del Toro, stay at Lula’s. You’ll get a comfortable, clean place to stay, a great breakfast, an amazing location, wonderful people, and probably a little dog therapy thrown in for good measure. 😂🐾

For us, Lula’s has become our home away from home in Bocas.

And as much as we love coming here…

We really, really hate leaving.
