Different camps. Shared mission. More opportunities to grow!

Bonita Park sent our Executive Director and a member of our Board of Directors to Prescott, Arizona, for the Nazarene Camping Association’s annual meeting and retreat.

This gathering brings together camp leaders from across the United States and Canada to share ideas, celebrate what’s working, and explore ways to strengthen our ministries. Learning from one another helps us continue improving the experiences we offer every guest who comes to Bonita Park.

We’re thankful for this opportunity to learn together and seek God’s guidance as we plan for the seasons ahead. Our prayer is that these connections and ideas will help us serve our guests well and create opportunities for people to draw closer to Him.

Powering Up — Phase 2 at Bonita Park!

The mini-split project in Freeman A, B, and C is taking another exciting step forward! This weekend, volunteers are working on the electrical connections as the new heating and air-conditioning systems begin being commissioned and brought into service.

There’s still work ahead, but we’re getting close! We expect all the systems to be ready very soon, bringing year-round comfort to these lodging spaces.

Behind every unit coming on is someone who has given their time and skills to make it happen. We’re grateful for the volunteers spending their weekend running wiring, making connections, and moving this project toward completion!

Soon, our guests will enjoy the benefits of their work—warm rooms on chilly mountain mornings and a cool place to rest after summer activities.

“As each one has received a special gift, employ it in serving one another as good stewards of the multifaceted grace of God.”
1 Peter 4:10 (NASB2020)

Thank you to our volunteers and the donors who made this project possible. What a blessing to see God’s provision taking shape at Bonita Park!

The New Mexico District Church of the Nazarene Women’s Retreat begins tonight at Bonita Park!

It’s a beautiful day in the Sacramento Mountains as we get ready to welcome women from across the district for a weekend of worship, fellowship, encouragement, and time together.

The tables are being set, Armstrong Tabernacle is getting ready, and the rainbow over Bonita Park feels like a beautiful welcome for those arriving.

This year’s theme comes from Hebrews 10:24:

“And let us consider how we may spur one another on toward love and good deeds.”

Our prayer is that this weekend will be a time to rest, refresh, renew, and encourage one another as women gather together in Christ.

Welcome to Bonita Park, ladies! We’re so glad you’re here.

Rain or Shine — Our Volunteers Keep Serving!

It hasn’t just been a little rain this week — it’s been a lot of rain. But that hasn’t stopped this incredible group of volunteers from continuing the work of installing the new mini-split systems in Freeman A, B, and C.

They’re now completing Phase 1 of this project, and their willingness to keep serving through wet, messy conditions says so much about their commitment and servant hearts.

“Whatever you do, do your work heartily, as for the Lord and not for people.”
Colossians 3:23

BIG NEWS at Bonita Park!

We are excited to share that Freeman A, B, and C are getting mini-split heating and air-conditioning systems! These lodging spaces will now be climate controlled, making them more comfortable for our guests year-round.

We’re incredibly thankful for the volunteers spending the week with us to install them, and for the ministry partners whose generous donor dollars are helping make projects like this possible. This is a great example of God providing through people who give, serve, and invest in the ministry of Bonita Park.

“And my God will supply all your needs according to His riches in glory in Christ Jesus.”
Philippians 4:19

We are grateful for God’s faithfulness, for our volunteers, and for every ministry partner who helps us continue improving Bonita Park.

We are thankful for the rain God has given Bonita Park over the past few weeks—and for the beautiful skies that have come with it.

Bonita Park Sunday at Roswell First Church of the Nazarene was one for the books!

Phil Jones, Bonita Park department head, led us in worship, and fellow department head Brenda Garber blessed us on piano, as we joined in with the Roswell worship team. We then dug into the impact of Christian camp ministry on the Kingdom of God. Camp isn’t just a place — it’s a mission field where lives are changed forever.

Thank you, Roswell First, for welcoming our team and partnering with us in this work!

🙏 Thank You, La Vista Church of the Nazarene and Pastor James and Cindy Byerly!

What a blessing it was to share a Bonita Park Sunday with La Vista Church of the Nazarene in White Rock, NM!

For the first time in 30 years, I got to play hacky sack in a sanctuary without getting in trouble. Ruth shared a powerful testimony — her own life-changing experiences at Bonita Park, and decades of watching that same transformation ripple through the lives of others.

The congregation welcomed Amy and me in like family, and it was an honor to preach to an impressive group of teenagers who were part of the service and stayed engaged the whole time.
Thank you for opening your hearts and doors to us — and for sharing the vision of Bonita Park as an active mission field.

IT’S BACK!

After a year of being closed, the Leap of Faith is returning for Summer 2026.

Since 2015, it has been one of Bonita Park’s most loved activities, and today our staff spent the day training and preparing to safely operate it once again.

We’re thankful to God for His provision and for the opportunity to once again watch guests step out in faith, face their fears, and discover they can do more than they thought possible.

Summer is here. The Leap of Faith is back!
