🚐 Vixen Owners Association — What a Wonderful Visit! 🚐
We had the absolute pleasure of welcoming the Vixen Owners Association to our park for the very first time! What an incredible group of people, and what a unique group of vehicles!
The Vixen Owners Association is a nationwide group with around 140 members, with Vixen owners all over the world! It’s clear that they’ve created a wonderful little Vixen family within the organization. Everyone is incredibly involved, always willing to lend a hand, and happy to share their knowledge. You could see that firsthand during their visit, with members helping each other work on and maintain their vehicles.
This trip was especially meaningful because the group was celebrating the 40th anniversary of the Vixen motorhome! Vixens were limited-production motorhomes designed by William Collins Jr. and manufactured from 1985–1988. There were approximately 386 diesel-powered Vixens and around 100 gas-powered Vixens produced.
These unique little motorhomes are just 21 feet long, with lightweight fiberglass bodies. They feature components from both BMW and GMC, and their roofs can be raised to provide additional headroom. They’re compact, unique, and, as we heard more than once during their visit, pretty much little rocketships!
Vixens can sleep four people, and no two are exactly alike. Owners have customized their Vixens in so many different ways, both inside and out. They definitely require some love and work, but for these owners, it’s all part of the fun and adventure of owning one!
The original company went out of business in 1990, and the Vixen Owners Association was formed in 1991. If you’re interested in learning more, be sure to check out vixenrv.org.
Our wonderful Wagonmaster for this trip was Eric! He joined the group in 2018, became Vice President in 2023, and was elected President in 2025. We absolutely loved having him here!
Eric, along with Glenn and Mike, gave me a little tour of some of the Vixens and taught me about how they work. It was so much fun getting to see the differences between each motorhome and hear the stories behind them.
The entire group was so kind, welcoming, and genuinely excited to be here. Thank you, Eric, and the entire Vixen Owners Association, for coming to our little town, exploring the area, and spending time with us here at the park! We already miss you all and hope you’ll come back for another visit soon.
Until next time, Vixens!
Happy travels,
Abbee & ACRV Team!
