That front porch and those wood panels... They got a new double layer of stain this weekend and I couldn't be happier with how it looks and what an awesome job they did. Thank you to Lindsey and Cole! WOOT!!

Oh my goodness... So many things! You can see Lily enjoying her patio time in the Texas Sun. Then there are the bluebonnets I planted by seed last year, they are doing phenomenal. I hope they reseed themselves as they should.

I power washed that rug and it looks so great I'm so happy with the outcome.

I had a couple dead bushes that my neighbor offered to pull, thank you so much Levi! Then it was time to mulch and that makes everything look so fresh. I left the front area with just the giant cactus, it's enough to fill the space. And see those tiny green buds on that cactus? Those are going to be new paddles when I come back in the fall.

Though it's hard to see there is a fresh coat of white paint on the walls in the living area, it looks so much better.

Shout out to all my helpers... Couldn't have done it without you!

This week I visited Thomas Dambo's installation of Malin, a forest troll made of recycled wood. It's at Pease Park in Austin if you want to see her. He does this art throughout the world. Thank you Thomas for kindness through art.

Spring cleaning is underway...stove, fridge and washer/dryer were moved to clean underneath and around. Took a damp rag to the ceiling fans - better than just dusting! Cleaned the high (read hard to reach) windows and associated tchotchkes. Also had the two heat/AC units deep cleaned by a professional. Other sprucing up in the near future - stay tuned!

Earlier this week I booked an Airbnb in Ukraine, with no intention of staying there. I heard about this grassroots initiative to directly help the folks in Ukraine - so I did it. I realize this isn't much, but in some small way I hope it helps. Here's the story as reported by NPR.

(You can also simply give money to Airbnb, they help refugees find housing etc.)

As the idea spread, more than 61,000 nights were booked, grossing nearly $2 million. One host in Kyiv says the donations have helped pay staffers who have fled and buy food for elderly neighbors.
