🌲 𝗔𝗳𝘁𝗲𝗿 𝗻𝗲𝗮𝗿𝗹𝘆 𝗧𝗪𝗢 𝗬𝗘𝗔𝗥𝗦 𝗼𝗳 𝗿𝗲𝗻𝗼𝘃𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀, 𝗠𝗮𝗶𝗻𝗲’𝘀 𝗺𝗼𝘀𝘁 𝗳𝗮𝗺𝗼𝘂𝘀 𝗼𝘂𝘁𝗱𝗼𝗼𝗿 𝘀𝘁𝗼𝗿𝗲 𝗶𝘀 𝗿𝗲𝗮𝗱𝘆 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗶𝘁𝘀 𝗯𝗶𝗴 𝗿𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗮𝗹. 👀

And apparently L.L.Bean decided one grand-opening weekend wasn't enough.

𝗧𝗵𝗲𝘆’𝗿𝗲 𝗱𝗼𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗦𝗜𝗫. 😂

Beginning September 18, L.L.Bean's legendary Freeport Flagship will celebrate its reopening with six themed weekends stretching all the way through October 25.

And there is a LOT happening.

🎶 Free outdoor concerts from country star 𝗞𝗶𝗽 𝗠𝗼𝗼𝗿𝗲 and 𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗪𝗮𝗹𝗹𝗳𝗹𝗼𝘄𝗲𝗿𝘀.

🥾 A Heritage Weekend featuring vintage L.L.Bean gear, archive pieces and even demonstrations showing how old Bean Boots get resoled.

👜 A new Custom Shop with opportunities to personalize, paint, print and embellish that famous Boat and Tote.

🎃 Thousands of glowing jack-o’-lanterns during the Camp Sunshine Pumpkin Festival, plus a showing of 𝗛𝗼𝗰𝘂𝘀 𝗣𝗼𝗰𝘂𝘀 and a Flannel 5K.

⚾ A Home Team Weekend featuring the Boston Red Sox and Portland Hearts of Pine.

And the store itself got some pretty major upgrades.

There's a new 𝘁𝘄𝗼-𝘁𝗶𝗲𝗿𝗲𝗱 𝘁𝗿𝗼𝘂𝘁 𝗽𝗼𝗻𝗱 greeting visitors at the entrance, an expanded Discovery Park and a bigger 1912 Café overlooking the remodeled store.

But maybe our favorite wonderfully L.L.Bean detail happens during opening weekend:

🍎 𝗙𝗥𝗘𝗘 𝗖𝗜𝗗𝗘𝗥 𝗔𝗡𝗗 𝗗𝗢𝗡𝗨𝗧 𝗛𝗢𝗟𝗘𝗦 𝗙𝗥𝗢𝗠 𝟭𝟬 𝗣.𝗠. 𝗧𝗢 𝟱 𝗔.𝗠.

Because this is, after all, the store famous for being open 24 hours a day. 😂

The Freeport campus spans about 𝟮𝟮𝟬,𝟬𝟬𝟬 𝘀𝗾𝘂𝗮𝗿𝗲 𝗳𝗲𝗲𝘁 and welcomes more than 𝟯 𝗺𝗶𝗹𝗹𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝘃𝗶𝘀𝗶𝘁𝗼𝗿𝘀 each year.

And it all traces back to 1912, when Leon Leonwood Bean started a one-room business selling one product:

The Maine Hunting Shoe.

More than a century later, they're throwing a six-week party to celebrate what's next. ❤️

It may still be August, but around here we’re already thinking OCTOBER!

The 2026 Damariscotta Pumpkinfest & Regatta is coming October 9–12, and this year’s schedule is packed with everything that makes Pumpkinfest… well, Pumpkinfest.

🎃 Giant pumpkins taking over Main Street
🎨 Artists bringing them to life
🏁 The Pumpkin Derby
🥧 Pie eating and dessert contests
🚤 The one-and-only Pumpkin Regatta
🏃 Tour de Gourd 5K
💥 Pumpkin Drop
🎶 Buskers, food, family activities and so much more

And before the main festival even begins, our giant pumpkins take center stage at the Pumpkin Weigh-Offs October 3–4, followed by **Pumpkin Deployment on October 8.

This festival doesn't happen overnight. Behind the scenes, our volunteers, growers, artists, sponsors, local businesses and community partners are already hard at work getting ready to welcome everyone back to Damariscotta.

So start making your plans. Invite your friends. Bring the family.

Because before we know it, the giants will be rolling into town and Main Street will be Pumpkinfest again. 🎃🧡
