Since Karley has gymnastics in Grand Rapids 3 times a week and I'm doing all the driving while Kylie heals I'm using the time to haul home rock to fix up driveways at the resort.

Every sunset at the lake is beautiful but some take it to another level! Soon I'll have to make special trips out of the shop and all the way down to the lake to get my daily dose of Big Turtle Lake 🐢 beauty. Oh the humanity....😭! We should have the docks and beach finished up by the end of October and then it'll be time to pick a shop project.

Kylie is busy working on rebook reminder emails to everyone that choose to make Arcadia their family vacation again next year. Little Lady Lilly is taking a nap after supervising this very important work! Current guests have first dibs on their cabin for the following year. When you check out (the last evening of your stay) and settle up the tab you'll have the option of booking your cabin or any available cabin for the following year. We will not give away your cabin for next year to a new guest until you've checked out at the end of your stay. If you choose to rebook you'll fill out a new reservation form and leave it with us along with payment info for the deposit. This can be done by check (preferred) or credit card. The deposit isn't due until November 1st. If you need to cancel or change your reservation before this date there is no penalty. If we don't hear from you even after the reminder email is sent and we get to November 1st we will cash your deposit and then the normal cancelation policy takes effect. This is done to protect us. We used to just have folks send in their form and deposit by January 1st. For a long time this worked just fine. Unfortunately about 15 years ago this started to change. Folks would rebook not being serious about keeping the reservation. Then we'd spend time trying to get ahold of someone in January to see why they haven't sent in the form/deposit or called to cancel. By the time we'd get a for sure answer it would be far past the booking season and then we'd have open cabins that were very hard to fill. Our goal is to ask everyone at check out if they want to rebook for the following year. Unfortunately sometimes on a crazy busy evening it might slip by. We do have signs at the front desk about rebooking. If for some reason you aren't asked at check out please let us know so your cabin is held.
We hope to see everyone again next summer!
