Guests last week had a VERY RARE encounter with a Cecropia moth!

FUN FACTS:
While it is the largest native moth in North America, with a wingspan of up to 7 inches, sightings are increasingly uncommon due to habitat loss, pesticide use, and parasitic flies.

~ Short Lifespan: Adult Cecropia moths only live for about 1 to 2 weeks. They lack functional mouthparts and cannot eat, meaning they die shortly after mating.

~ Nocturnal Nature: They are strictly nocturnal, which limits the chance of daytime encounters
