π£ Blue Ridge Parkway Update: More Sections Open for Fall Adventures! ππ
Great news, leaf-peepers and mountain enthusiasts! The National Park Service has restored access to additional sections of the Blue Ridge Parkway as of October 30, 2024.
π’ Newly Opened Sections:
β’ MP 411.8-421 (US 276 to Black Balsam)
Includes Graveyard Fields overlook and trailheads (MP 418.8)
β’ MP 423.2-469 (NC 215 to Cherokee, NC)
Includes Waterrock K**b Visitor Center (MP 451.2) which will be open daily from 10:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. until November 11, 2024.
π’ Previously Opened Sections:
β’ MP 0-45.6 (VA/NC state line)
β’ MP 217.5-305.1 (Peaks of Otter to Grandfather Mountain)
β’ MP 382-384.7 (Folk Art Center area)
π΄ Notable Closure:
β’ MP 421-423.2 (including Devil's Courthouse) - Closed due to significant landslide

β’ Use extreme caution on all open trails
β’ Expect changing conditions
β’ Stay out of closed areas for your safety
