I hope everyone is warm and safe from this cold weather. As beautiful as the snow is, it can also be treacherous. Please stay safe. Our granddaughter did play in the snow and made snow cream. I made hot chocolate for her. She decided to have marshmallows, cool whip and sprinkles. It was pretty! Enjoy your day folks!

Well, the newscasters say its past peak leaf season. Wrong! Blain and I drove the Blue Ridge Parkway and its still beautiful. We also drove over the mtn and its beautiful there too. Its the perfect time to come to the mtns and hike a few trails or see the water falls. You won't get hot and sweaty and there aren't many bugs. We have a few rooms available so come on. There are some great shops in town to get those unique Christmas gifts too.

Howdy folks! I hope everyone had a great weekend. I had a wonderful Mother's Day with my family. My kids are awesome. I just want to let you know that our pool is open! We had our pool and motel inspection last week and received 100% on our score again. Yay!

If you love the Smoky mountains and need something to do this week come on to Two Rivers Lodge. The Occonaluftee and the Tuckasegee Rivers really do meet right behind us . We have a pavilion and grills and a fire pit down by the river for your enjoyment. Fishing is permitted as long as you have a N.C fishing license. Hurry up, we only have a few rooms left!

The news keeps saying roads are open and then they show footage of the area when it was still closed. They need to show footage of things after its cleaned up. Bryson City, N.C
is open and ready for business. Two Rivers Lodge is open and waiting for you! The pool will be open next month but the fire pit is ready to go. Come roast marshmallows with us. If you forget to bring them, ask me, I probably have some.

📣 Blue Ridge Parkway Update: More Sections Open for Fall Adventures! 🍁🚗
Great news, leaf-peepers and mountain enthusiasts! The National Park Service has restored access to additional sections of the Blue Ridge Parkway as of October 30, 2024.

🟢 Newly Opened Sections:
• MP 411.8-421 (US 276 to Black Balsam)
Includes Graveyard Fields overlook and trailheads (MP 418.8)
• MP 423.2-469 (NC 215 to Cherokee, NC)
Includes Waterrock K**b Visitor Center (MP 451.2) which will be open daily from 10:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. until November 11, 2024.

🟢 Previously Opened Sections:
• MP 0-45.6 (VA/NC state line)
• MP 217.5-305.1 (Peaks of Otter to Grandfather Mountain)
• MP 382-384.7 (Folk Art Center area)

🔴 Notable Closure:
• MP 421-423.2 (including Devil's Courthouse) - Closed due to significant landslide

⚠️ Safety First:
• Use extreme caution on all open trails
• Expect changing conditions
• Stay out of closed areas for your safety

Good morning! It is going to be a beautiful weekend in Bryson City. The roads are open and we need your business. It is much calmer on this side of the mtn since we don't have all the traffic. Come sit by the fire and let your troubles float down the river.

We are still open and starting to see a little business trickle in. I drove to Charlotte Saturday for a cross country meet and had no delays. I drove hwy74 and I26 if anyone needs to know. Other than that we are still digging mud out of our barns and my shop will be next. It will have to be gutted since it has sheetrock walls and is insulated. After that will be our garage and then smaller out bounding which if salvageable will be moved and raised. I am putting everything without wheels up on legs and shelves and creating better accessibility to equipment so if there is a next time we can put all the equipment up on trailers and move up quickly. According to stories from the original owners of this place apx 1981 was the last time it flooded this was and was slightly higher getting into the pool and up to the porch.
