Labor Day is right around the corner, and if your ideal long weekend includes a little wilderness without giving up the comfy stuff, we’ve got you. 🌲✨

Around here, we like to call it backcountry bougie: spend the day riding, hiking, exploring, or splashing around in the mountains, then come back to hot showers, relaxing cabins, good food, and a place that actually feels good to put your feet up.

Before we put a bow on TNGA 2026, we need to say a very big THANK YOU to the incredible community behind this event. ❤️

First, to Race Director Jeff “Honcho” Williams for yet another exemplary year of herding feral cats, and to TNGA founder Dave Muse for having a dumb idea for Type 2 fun that has somehow resonated with people for 17 years.

This year also brought the debut of the TNGA Gravel route! Huge thanks to Clint Fowler for the vision, mapping, and first ride-through that brought it to life.

A massive thank-you to our Event Volunteers / Shuttle Drivers:

Kate Wendel, Kimberly Moore, Russell Newton, Christopher St. Clair, Brian Sherman, Graham Skardon, Monica Desjardins, David Witherow, Maggie Deavours, LeaAnne Deavours, Rebecca Less, Mike McCrary, Delores Montero, Fred Simonelli, Art Slayton, Chris Freeman, Norm Deane, Katie Aguilar, Kevin “Stringbean” Koellmer, Rose Law, Whitney Stanley, Tanya Uherka, Jon Kent, JP Dales, Maddox Joseph Caporini, Stephen Craig Easley, Steve Bucina, Ellery Kate Deane, Tara Gideon, Benjamin Meyer, Sheila Slayton, Jeannie Wentworth, Chris Randall, and Brett Davidson.

Extra thanks to Josh Hennessey + Blue Mountain Bikes for the multi-bike rack that was an absolute game changer; Brett Davidson + North Georgia Mountain Bike Association for the flatbed trailer and extra drivers; and Cartecay Bike Shop for coming through with an emergency delivery.

Thank you to the volunteers with North Georgia Mountain Bike Association, Northwest Georgia SORBA, Northeast Georgia SORBA, and every other group and individual who maintains the trails, roads, and routes that make this epic adventure possible.

And finally, thank you to all the riders — not just for showing up to do this wild thing, but for looking out for one another along the way.

To everyone who raced, volunteered, drove, maintained trails, loaned equipment, solved problems, cheered, tracked dots, or helped a stranger:

Thank you for another phenomenal TNGA. We couldn’t do it without you. ❤️

Mother Nature has been keeping us on our toes lately! 🌧️🌿

Like much of North Georgia, we've had some heavy rain over the past few weeks. That means you'll occasionally find a small washout, a downed branch, or even the rare little landslide on the trails.

But don't let that fool you...

The trails are very much alive and well.

Our local trail crews, volunteers, land managers, and riding community are incredible. When storms roll through, they get to work clearing trees, repairing drainage, rerouting where needed, and keeping the trail system in great shape.

A little fresh dirt and a few reminders that these are real mountain trails? That's just part of the adventure.

If you're headed our way, expect amazing riding, beautiful forests, flowing creeks, and maybe a little evidence that Mother Nature has been busy. That's one of the things we love most about these mountains—they're wild, they're always changing, and they're worth every mile.

We'll continue to share any significant trail impacts as they happen, but for now...

Come ride. The mountains are waiting. 🚵🌲

QUIT TOMORROW.

It's simple advice. But it might be some of the best advice you'll ever hear.

Right now, TNGA riders are somewhere out there on the route. Some are having the ride of their lives. Others are staring up another impossible climb, nursing sore feet, running low on energy, or wondering if they can keep going.

When those moments come, don't make a permanent decision based on a temporary feeling.

Quit tomorrow.

Eat something. Fill your bottles. Take a break. Watch the sunset. Sleep on it.

More often than not, tomorrow looks different.

That's true on the TNGA... and it's true in life.

The hard day at work. The project that isn't going your way. The relationship that feels strained. The goal that suddenly seems out of reach. Sometimes the best thing you can do is give yourself one more day. One more conversation. One more sunrise. One more chance.

To every TNGA rider out there this week: we're proud of you. Whether you're chasing the fastest time or simply determined to reach the finish, or working up the stoke to come back next year... remember that every mile forward is a victory.

Keep pedaling.

And if today gets hard...

Quit tomorrow.

💧 You know what they say...

Hydrate... or die-drate. 😎☀️

North Georgia summers don't mess around, and whether you're mountain biking, gravel riding, hiking, camping, lounging in a hammock, or soaking in the hot tub, staying hydrated is one of the best things you can do for yourself.

So we want to know...

🥤 What's in YOUR water bottle this summer?

💦 Plain water?
🍋 Lemon or fruit-infused water?
⚡ LMNT?
🧂 Liquid I.V.?
🍓 Nuun?
🥥 Coconut water?
🫖 Iced tea?
🤫 Some secret homemade electrolyte concoction?

We're always on the hunt for new favorites that keep electrolytes balanced, taste buds happy, and dehydration at bay.

Drop your go-to hydration combo in the comments—you might just help another adventurer discover their new trail essential! 👇

🚲 They're Off! The 2026 TNGA Has Officially Begun! 🎉

This morning at 8:00 AM, riders rolled away from the South Carolina border and began one of the toughest bikepacking challenges in the Southeast: the 350-mile Trans North Georgia Adventure (TNGA).

Over the next several days (and nights!), they'll climb thousands of feet, tackle rugged singletrack and remote gravel roads, navigate changing weather, push through exhaustion, and make their way west across the mountains of North Georgia toward the Alabama border.

✨ This year is especially exciting because, for the first time ever, TNGA riders have two incredible route options to choose from: the legendary Classic TNGA or the brand-new Gravel Route. It's a huge milestone for the event and opens this epic adventure to even more riders while preserving the spirit of self-supported bikepacking that makes TNGA so special.

One of our favorite parts of TNGA is that you don't have to be riding to be part of the adventure.

📍 Follow every rider LIVE on the official Trackleaders tracker:
https://trackleaders.com/tnga26

Watching the tracker is surprisingly addictive! You'll see riders spread out across North Georgia, watch them tackle climbs, stop for a few hours of sleep (or not 😅), and cheer them on as they inch closer to the finish.

We'll be following along all week and can't wait to welcome riders to Mulberry Gap as they pass through on their journey.

👇 Are you following someone this year? Drop their name in the comments so we can cheer them on, too!

Good luck to every rider tackling the 2026 TNGA. May your legs stay strong, your spirits stay high, and your adventures be unforgettable. 💚

🚴 Mulberry Gap During TNGA: Your Questions Answered!

Every August, we get a lot of the same questions as the Trans North Georgia Adventure (TNGA) rolls through. If you're planning to visit us August 14–24, here's everything you need to know!

❓Are you open during TNGA?

Absolutely! In fact, we'd love to have you. 😊
Mulberry Gap remains open to all guests throughout the entire event.

❓Will it be super crowded?

Not really!

TNGA is a 350-mile self-supported bikepacking race, so riders are spread out across hundreds of miles of North Georgia. Even with around 100 participants, they arrive individually or in small groups over many days—not all at once.

That means you'll get to enjoy the excitement of the event without feeling like you're in the middle of a huge festival.

❓Can I still come mountain biking, gravel riding, hiking, or camping?

Yes!

Our trails, cabins, campsites, hot tubs, and everything else are still here waiting for you. Many guests actually enjoy visiting during TNGA because it's fun to cheer on riders while still having plenty of space to enjoy their own adventure.

❓Are your shuttles running?

Mostly, yes!

The only times our regular shuttle schedule is unavailable are:

🚐 Friday, August 14
🚐 Saturday morning, August 15

Those vehicles are busy transporting TNGA riders to the Grand Depart.

After that, our regular shuttle service resumes as normal.

❓What about food?

🍳 Our regular weekend meal service is available Friday through Sunday, just like always.

Plus, during the week between the two weekends, we'll have made-to-order meals, grab-and-go food, snacks, drinks, beer, and more available for purchase every day from 6:00 AM–10:00 PM.

Whether you're racing, riding, hiking, or just relaxing, we've got you covered.

❓Can I volunteer?

Yes—and we'd LOVE your help!

TNGA runs because of an amazing team of volunteers.

Commit to just TWO six-hour shifts, and you can enjoy:

💚 FREE or deeply discounted lodging
🍽️ A free meal during every shift
🥪 Discounted meals the rest of your stay
🚴 A behind-the-scenes look at one of the Southeast's most iconic bikepacking events

First-time guests are absolutely welcome! No special experience is needed—we'll show you everything you need to know.

👉 Volunteer here:
https://www.signupgenius.com/go/904094BA8AC23A2FB6-63606490-2026 #/

❓I've never experienced TNGA before. Is it worth visiting?

Definitely!

There's something really special about watching riders roll in after days of adventure, swapping stories over dinner, and cheering them on as they continue west. Even if you're not racing, it's one of our favorite times of year—and we'd love for you to experience it with us.

Have another question? Drop it in the comments or send us a message—we're always happy to help!

💚 Can you believe Labor Day is almost here?

It feels like summer just got started... and somehow we're already talking about the last long weekend of the season.

If you've been telling yourself, "We really need to get away for a weekend," consider this your friendly nudge. 😊

Come spend a few days with us in the North Georgia mountains.

Sleep in a cozy cabin (or pitch a tent, hang a hammock, or park your van), spend your days riding bikes, hiking trails, floating a nearby river, swimming in cool mountain creeks, or simply relaxing with a good book in a hammock. End the day with a campfire, a soak in the hot tub, and a sky full of stars.

No rush. No packed schedule. Just a chance to reconnect—with nature, with the people you came with, and maybe even with yourself.

We'd truly love to have you here.

If Labor Day weekend has been floating around in the back of your mind, this is a great time to make it happen. Cabins and campsites are already starting to fill, and we'd hate for you to miss out.

🏕️ We'd love to welcome you to Mulberry Gap for one last summer adventure.

Book your stay at www.MulberryGap.com and come make some memories with us. ❤️
