There is still a little snow hanging on as of 9:45 PM, but we are not staying up until midnight to check, so we’re calling the winners:

It was a beautiful day here in the UP, and as of 8:45 tonight, this is all that’s left. The picture makes it look like there’s more than there really is, Oscar thinks it will be gone within an hour.

The snow pile is still hanging on - maybe one more day. His brother Snickers had to help check it out today.

Oscar’s snow pile is still hanging on—but it’s going fast. With temps dipping into the low 30s at night and climbing into the mid-to-upper 40s during the day, we’re guessing about another week and it’ll finally be gone.

It’s amazing how quickly things have melted considering how much snow we had. All that runoff has the lake sitting really high this spring, too.

Oscar will keep you posted when it’s getting closer!

Another beautiful spring day in the UP! Oscar spent a solid three hours running laps around the resort getting really muddy but loving every minute of it. His snow pile is still hanging on though—he’s giving it at least another week before it finally disappears. The ice went off this week too, first time we’ve seen open water in over 21 weeks!

Our first official guess for Oscar’s snow pile is today—April 19.
At a brisk 25° this morning and with another fresh dusting overnight, that snow pile isn’t going anywhere anytime soon even with what appears to be a beautiful day in the UP!

After losing a lot of snow the past couple of days, last night’s sunset felt like a little promise that spring is finally coming! 🤞

If you were wondering if things were melting in the U.P… they’re NOT!!! ❄️

At this point it’s less “spring thaw” and more “extended snow season with mud previews.”
It’s going to be awhile before the snows gone this year!
