Spring is here and thus the pond gate has been closed for a refill. Despite that, the water still flows through Mooselook Acres and there are always surprising sites to find when the water is slow.

During a brief warm spell, some of the Mooselook residents took advantage of foraging for some last minute food.
They say its a rare occasion to see a fisher "cat" during the day. (its technically not a cat).

Mooselook Acres is a great place to relax. Some sit by the babbling stream and campfire, some stay indoors and assemble a puzzle or maybe read a book in the hammock. Another relaxing activity is to count tree rings to determine the approxomate age of a tree. Its a game well suited for the Maine woods. Any takers of this challenge?

Its the tiniest and simplest things in nature that are amazing. A caterpillar in October is surely against the odds.

This summer had many projects. One was a foot bridge to cross a usually easy flowing stream. But when the stream is low, the rocks are slippery and when it's running high, the rocks are submerged.
The bridge on the mile long trail has held up to a few high water events so far and into the winter for a proving.
