2026 ANNUAL MEMBERSHIP MEETING & ANNUAL ASSOCIATION DUES.

REMINDER: The LKLA Annual Meeting will be on Saturday, July 11, 2026 from 9 - 11 AM at the Hazelhurst Town Hall. Responding to member requests, we have scheduled the meeting in the morning to make it easier for everyone to attend. Coffee, juice and baked goods will be provided. Your annual dues of $50 can be paid at the meeting. Dues can also be mailed in to:

Suddenly we turned a page and summer weather has arrived at Hilltop Cottages Resort & Rathskeller ☀️ the turtles are out sun bathing, fishermen enjoying the calm lake, and kayaking fun for all🌊 keep these warm days coming ✨

FYI: on Thursday May 21, at 11:40 am. one of our lake residents reported they had a large black bear walking thru their front yard. This was on Lower Kaubashine Road and Clawsen Drive. Please be mindful of your garbage, bird feeders and any other food sources outside. A lot of these beautiful creatures also have young cubs in the vicinity with them this time of year, so if you see a bear use plenty of caution and give them space!

The resort is coming back to life with lots of woodland creatures returning too✨ baby turtles, loons, geese, bald eagles, the deer of course, and lots of friendly little squirrel friends🧡 we even had a great blue heron visit🍃

✨We’re back and ready to welcome our first round of guests for the 2026 season this week 🎉 our hours of operation for the Rathskeller will be Friday through Sunday 6-10 pm✨ stop by, say hi, and grab an iced cold beer 🍻

Trail Report from Club President Jerry Wakefield

It looks like we are going from extreme cold to warming, with possible temps above freezing in the coming days.

The trails currently are in very good condition, with corners and high traffic areas starting to wear, and becoming icy. If temps rise above freezing, the trails will deteriorate quickly; especially as the forecasts have little snow in the near future.

There are signs of logging starting on Trail 12 south of Trail G and still some logging activity on Trail 5 south of the spillway. This could continue for the rest of the season.

Just a reminder, please approach our grooming machines SLOWLY! We do not pass snowmobiles! You must pass our machines while the machine is stopped. We will sometimes have to get to an area that is wide enough to pass. So please wait for the operator to signal you to pass, and stay back and let them get to a safe area to pass. You might even have to turn around as we will not back up.

Finally, it’s been a great season so far! Let’s keep it that way moving forward and pray for more snow!
