Guess whooo?! That’s right!! The loggerhead ladies have made their return to beaches!! 😍

We had an our first false crawl of the 2025 season this morning!! A false crawl occurs when a nesting sea turtle returns to the water without depositing her nest. This abandoned attempt can occur for many reasons such as noise, lights, people, obstructions or just not “the right spot”. Hey, it’s her prerogative 😎. But we hope she comes back to nest tonight!

That means we need YOUR 🫵 help! Please help keep the beaches so our ladies can successfully and safely deposit their nests!!

It’s Sea Turtle Nesting Season in South Walton!
From May 1st to October 31st, our beaches become a nursery for endangered sea turtles—and they need your help! 🐢

Let’s keep our shores CLEAN, DARK, and FLAT:
CLEAN – Trash belongs in bins, not in turtle bellies. 🚮
DARK – Lights out at night; hatchlings follow the moon, not your porch light. 🌖
FLAT– Smooth the sand and fill in holes—turtle moms aren’t off-roading experts! 🕳️🐢

Remember: their journey starts here. Let’s make it a safe one!
