Rich grew up hearing stories from his parents’ and grandparents’ innkeeping days in Connecticut. Thirty-two years later and 2,500 miles away, we opened one of our own. A different place, a different era, but the same lessons.

Sharing this as another chapter of our story as keepers with , a brand that’s been helping people care for their spaces for over 140 years—and just made it even easier with their new reusable silicone lids. A small detail that makes a big difference.

This full moon was exactly that 🌝

Also, you’re gonna want to go to .yv and listen to some while you’re at it. Watching friends thrive is the best—proud over here!

this is a reminder that all stories have a beginning. they’re usually small (and scary). this is ours 🏠🌵

We’ve been feeling sentimental lately. Rich comes from a family of innkeepers—and somehow, without quite planning it, we became innkeepers too. He never met his grandfather, who ran a family inn in CT, but the longer we do this work, the more we find him in it.

So much of innkeeping is maintenance. Done well, no one notices. They just feel that everything is right.

This is the first chapter of a story we’re telling about keeping a place with . More soon. 🤍

When things feel big and heavy we try to think small. The bloom that changed from yellow to peach today, planting a new seed in our veggie garden. The one tile we laid, the one person we made smile. That hug. 🧡

fountain progress! 🌵⛲️ after the earth building workshop we did with our pal last year, we’ve been wanting to experiment more with rammed earth. we’d also been dreaming of a fountain for our courtyard at home, so we combined the two: a rammed earth exterior with a interior. it’s getting close!!

swipe to go back in time through the process of making it.
