Moody skies and golden light as people climb toward the summit of the tallest dunes in North America at Great Sand Dunes National Park.

I spent four days camping in the San Luis Valley this past weekend, and it still blows my mind that a place like this exists, let alone that it’s only two hours from home. Every time I get the camper out, this is my first stop, and I don’t see that changing anytime soon.

There’s something surreal about seeing massive sand dunes rise up against a backdrop of fourteen-thousand-foot peaks. It’s one of the most unique landscapes I’ve ever experienced, and it’s hard to beat.

I came home with a ton of new work that I’m excited to share this week. Hope everyone had a great weekend.
