Campfire Update

Wood campfires are temporarily on pause under the current burn ban, but camping season is still 100% enjoyable! Bring your propane fire bowl, gather around our community gas fire pit, or fire up dinner on the grills in our NEW community kitchen.

Thanks for helping us protect this beautiful place we all love.

Effective Friday August 7th, unincorporated Clallam County is in a full BURN BAN. Prohibited is all outdoor burning including campfires, bonfires, briquette BBQ's, residential yard debris clean up, land clearing, w**d abatement and agricultural burning activity. Propane/gas and pellet appliances are permitted as long as they are used on a non flammable surface and are at least 5 feet from flammable vegetation.

A guest really did stop by the office to report a possible Sasquatch encounter, complete with photographs of some very unusual footprints.

As for what made them... your guess is as good as ours.

Olympic Interagency Fire Managers have declared the start of fire season due to hot and dry weather conditions. In the last three weeks, firefighter crews have extinguished several small fires that spread from abandoned campfires.
