It has been through some changes over the years, even slipping into seediness for a while, as old roadside motels tend to do. Luckily, it survived that phase, and it's mid-century spirit has been reawakened. All of the rooms are now themed - you can choose from the Santa Fe Trail Room, the Man Cave, the Sombrero, the Matador, the Pin Up or even Lucky Thirteen. Raton itself is a charming, somewhat
gritty little burg, with a downtown full of historic buildings and lots of interesting lore. The entire downtown is on the National Register of Historic Places, and you can go to a movie in a theater that first opened in 1930, or attend a show at the Schuler, which opened over one hundred years ago. Raton now has it's own microbrewery and craft cocktail bar. Things are starting to happen in Raton, which is super exciting for us to see. Come stay with us. We treat our guests like part of our big, quirky and interesting family!
