Raton Pass Motor Inn Raton Pass Motor Inn is the place for vintage cool in northern New Mexico. We've got 15 individually Raton Pass Motor Inn opened in 1956 as the Capri Motel.

It has been through some changes over the years, even slipping into seediness for a while, as old roadside motels tend to do. Luckily, it survived that phase, and it's mid-century spirit has been reawakened. All of the rooms are now themed - you can choose from the Santa Fe Trail Room, the Sombrero, the Matador, the Pin Up or even Lucky Thirteen. Raton itself is a charming, somewhat gritty little burg, with a downtown full of historic buildings and lots of interesting lore. The entire downtown is on the National Register of Historic Places, and you can attend a show at the Schuler, which opened over one hundred years ago. Raton now has it's own microbrewery and craft cocktail bar. Things are starting to happen in Raton, which is super exciting for us to see. Come stay with us. We treat our guests like part of our big, quirky and interesting family!

We’re glad Lil’ Abner found the place quiet, clean, and reasonably priced. The Pin-Up Room is, in fact, decorated with pin-up pictures (hence the name) and the room name and theme were included in the confirmation email. Had he preferred a room without the terrifying photographs of attractive icons such as Bettie Page and Marilyn Monroe, we would have been happy to move him to another room.

People bring their baggage with them wherever they go (literally and figuratively), and this is an example of a review saying more about the reviewer than the place (and people) they are reviewing.
