The Firehouse Inn is located in the foothills of western North Carolina, one block from historic downtown Rutherfordton. Just a short drive to Lake Lure, NC (home of the movie Dirty Dancing), and Chimney Rock. Within easy driving distance of Asheville (home of the historic Biltmore Estate), you will find an endless array of things to see and do. The 1925 Town Hall and Firehouse has been completely renovated and restored, The level of service, ambiance, and bounteous breakfasts make it a perfect destination.

Before it was an inn, this building was Rutherfordton's city hall and fire station.

The bay doors out front are original, the trucks pulled out right about where you'll park. The ceilings in rooms 2 and 3 are tall because they had to be; the sleeping lofts got built into that height later.
We kept what we could. It's why nothing in here quite matches, and why no two rooms are the same shape.

Every morning means a hot, made-to-order breakfast in a dining room filled with actual sunlight. We keep snacks out all day, and coffee is available whenever you want it. Not just between 6 and 9 AM.
