Nobody warns you that in late August the roadsides around Santa Fe just... erupt. Wild sunflowers, miles of them, gold on gold against the mountains. It's free, it's everywhere, and it lasts about three weeks.

This is your reminder to actually pull over.

POV: you booked a cozy room with a fireplace, a comfy chair, maybe a little pour before bed — and your dog took one look, claimed the best rug in the house, brought his own toy, and made it extremely clear this is HIS suite and you're just staying in it.

The Perseids peak this week, and here's what city people forget: you need real dark to see it. Fifteen minutes past our acres, the sky stops being navy and starts being full - meteors, the actual Milky Way, the kind of dark that makes you go quiet.
