Something big is happening along the Sargent coastline.

Construction is now underway on Sargent's Breakwater Project, a major effort designed to help protect and strengthen this stretch of shoreline for years to come.

These drone photos capture some of the first visible signs of progress. While the project will take time to complete, it represents an important investment in the future of Sargent and the coastal experiences so many of us enjoy.

Protecting our coastline helps preserve the beaches, fishing, boating, wildlife, and the unique character that make Sargent such a special place.

Texas Parks & Wildlife announced the Red Snapper season opens May 22 this year, just in time for Memorial Day weekend on the Texas coast.

All you need now is a boat, a cooler, and a place to stay. We’ll even have the free ice waiting when you get back. ❄️
