So excited to see TWO huge monarch larvae today in the Samuel Church garden. They should be wandering off to find a place to make their chrysalis in the next couple of days. I hope it’s in a spot where the guests can watch it!

What a day! Can’t wait to compare the similarities Schoolhouse No.1 and No. 5. New Westport trail and then had a great lunch from Andrew Greenwood at The Beer Field supporting our local police. We’re pretty excited that our favorite police woman Caitlin Marie won the raffle for a weekend at the Schoolhouse No. 1, we can’t wait to spoil them for a couple days. Finished the day watching The Whisper Man and now the book is next in my list because there must be more explanation about how the mom died and Mr. Knight- right?!?

Built in 1814 and still standing on the Farm Coast. Samuel Church Estate keeps its original details, wide plank floors, wavy glass windows, while the kitchen and baths are fully updated. Sleeps 11 in Little Compton, Rhode Island.

Some houses in Little Compton whisper. Potters Corner doesn’t.

You feel it the moment you step into the main suite. Fifteen foot ceilings. A gas fireplace throwing warm light across the room. And then you notice the rest: a cedar sauna in the corner, a two person whirlpool bath, a steam shower with dual rain heads. It’s the kind of suite that makes you cancel your spa reservations for the weekend.

The rest of the house doesn’t slow down from there. Two living rooms, both with gas fireplaces and surround sound, for the mornings you want coffee and quiet or the nights you want the whole group in one room. A gourmet kitchen with granite counters that somehow still feels like a home kitchen, not a showroom. Four bedrooms, three baths, room for eight, and every inch of the 3,000+ square feet used well.

Outside, a private yard and a deck built for slow dinners off the gas grill, the kind where nobody’s in a hurry to go back inside.

This is Little Compton at its most indulgent. Quiet, private, and built for staying a while.
