Our little guesthouse and property are still in the clear from the Stewart Trail Fire. We’re not currently in an evacuation zone. Please keep the shore in your thoughts and we wish all of the first responders Godspeed in remediating this fire 🙏🏻

What a great intro to our state parks 🌲 🥾 ☀️

Mark your calendars: Free Park Day is coming up on Saturday, April 25!

Come join us at any state park or recreation area, no vehicle permit required! On this day, all Minnesota state parks and recreation areas offer free admission to anyone who wants to get outside and enjoy nature. Naturalists will be hosting a variety of programs that day, so take this opportunity to learn something new!

Events include:
—"Pages and Pines: Where books and nature come together" at Jay Cooke State Park
—"Chickadee birdhouse building workshop" at Zippel Bay State Park
—"Signs of spring hike" at Whitewater State Park
—"Blue Mounds Birding" at Blue Mounds State Park

Restoration Update at Split Rock Lighthouse.

Restoration work at Split Rock Lighthouse is continuing to take shape, with some noticeable changes now becoming visible along the North Shore.
“According to the original plans we reviewed, the lighthouse was intended to be firehouse red, and we’re bringing that vision to life as part of the restoration.” -Hayes Scriven, Site Manager.
I personally cannot wait to see it in all of its firehouse red glory!

Until next year…. Our single cabin goes into hibernation for the winter. Thank you to all of guests, family and friends that enjoyed our quaint little cabin in 2025. It’ll return on the market May 2026.
