It is always a major milestone when the snow finally clears and State Route 20 opens back up for the season! ⛰️ The drive through the North Cascades is easily one of the most stunning stretches of asphalt in the entire country.

The best stops are organized in order as you drive from west to east toward Winthrop:
1. Gorge Creek Falls & Overlook (Milepost 123.4)
2. Diablo Lake Overlook (Milepost 131.7)
3. Rainy Pass: Rainy Lake Trail (Milepost 157.6)
4. Washington Pass Overlook (Milepost 162)

🚗 Tip for the drive: Cell service cuts out entirely once you pass Marblemount on the west side and doesn't pick back up until you approach Mazama on the east side. Make sure to download your maps offline before you head up into the pass! 👈🏻
