Spend an hour on Chapman’s Peak Drive just outside Cape Town. It’s unfairly beautiful. Go about 45-60 minutes before sunset (parking fills up quickly), there’s a small toll (card or cash) and it gets breezy, so bring a jacket. Don’t drop your phone while pretending you’re not impressed.

This exact view is from Maidens’ Cove, perfectly positioned along Victoria Road (M6) between Clifton and Camps Bay.
Getting there is easy: • Around a 10–15 minute drive from Cape Town city centre • Head over Kloof Nek and follow Victoria Road toward Camps Bay • Look out for the two small Maidens’ Cove parking areas • From there, it’s just a short 1–3 minute walk onto the grassy lookout.

For the best experience, time it right: • Golden hour is unmatched (around 5:30–7pm, depending on the season) • The sun sets directly behind the Twelve Apostles, lighting up the mountains • Arrive 20–30 minutes early to secure a good spot and take it all in. Save this for your next sunset mission.
