Artist Kathryn Harmer Fox is coming to exhibit some of her beautiful pieces at the Gallery in the Forest, and will be offering a one day drawing workshop while here. Think sipping tea or coffee in the shade of magnificent trees and our moss-covered stretchy, gently teasing out techniques and what wants to appear on the page..
You are invited! Whatsapp 0606558152 if interested... timing could be adjusted to what suits participants.
Cost is R400pp for the day, participants to bring an item for the still life, plus preferred drawing materials - details to follow once booked. Soul Food will be open to serve food and drinks, or bring your sarmies.
Kathryn says:
If you and I were not taught to write, we would not be talking right now. Drawing is exactly the same: a learnt skill. The ability to draw frees me as an artist and I use it almost daily.

Come, join me in a day of drawing. We shall learn about positive/negative space, looking without prejudicial thinking, following the eye with the hand, and allowing the thingness of the thing to fill the page.

Drawing is all about observation and willingness; let's you and I make marks together.

Renowned EC Nature Conservationist Div de Villiers is speaking at Yellowwood Forest this Saturday morning at 10.30am!
Drop in or book a table at 0640870607 💚🌳 Div hardly needs to be introduced. He grew and studied in the Eastern Cape, and was Director at the provincial Dept of Economic Development, Environmental Affairs & Tourism, before establishing and leading the Green Scorpions for 16 years. A man of this place - and great storyteller. Div will be sharing a talk on 'Rhinos along the Eastern Cape Coast: Past, Present and Future' alongside our Saturday Morning Market this week.

In addition he'll be signing copies of his book 'Izindlovu: The story of South Africa's Greatest Rhino Poaching Case' which will be for sale at R250 soft cover/R450 hard cover.
