A follower recently asked about Cumquat's weathervane.
I call the classic rooster "Keefy", after the iconic Adelaide weather-man -Keith Martin.
In the 1970s, the Adelaide Bureau of Meteorology was in Kent Town, just across the road from Cumquat.
I imagine the then custodians of Cumquat installed Keefy. Maybe!
Although, a family friend (Pratty, from the Barossa) kindly took distressed Keefy under his arm and applied much needed restorative care. His advice was that our Keefy is more than a century old! Wow!
A local contractor reinstated Keefy as part of the restoration of the cottage.
The beautiful bluestone was rendered in a mid-century mauling!
In 2019-2020 a sympathetic restoration was undertaken.
Keefy, arguably the chooky on top! 🍊🧡🐔

About a 10 km drive from Cumquat Cottage BnB is Waterfall Gully, and the less well known - some serious walking trails and also scenic amble trails. Dogs to be on leash.
