Maranoa Regional Youth Council – Expression of Interest are open now!

Council is pleased to announce that expressions of interest for the exciting new initiative, the Maranoa Regional Youth Council (MRYC), are open now.

The establishment of the Youth Council is driven by Council’s desire to ensure that the younger members of our community are represented – and who better to lead that than the youth themselves.

Council is excited to welcome the next generation into the Chambers and provide them with an opportunity to share their ideas, raise issues and contribute to local decision making.

“I encourage young people aged 12 to 18 from across the region to submit an expression of interest for the Maranoa Regional Youth Council, particularly if they want to play an active role in improving their communities. This is a great opportunity to build confidence, develop new skills and be part of leading positive change — all while having fun.” Portfolio for Youth, Councillor John Birkett said.
