What an incredible first day of polar bear season.
Guests were amazed at how many bears we encountered right from the start — Churchill magic at its finest.
Two BC trucks joined the fleet and brought us some extra luck, with special thanks to Richard Song and Peter Butschek from Mainland Ford for arranging the shipment up to Churchill. Their support helped the season kick off with such a strong, successful start.

An 80 km/h wind tried its best to stop us… but our guests were unstoppable! 🌬️💨🐻‍❄️

After a long morning of searching, Angela finally spotted a beautiful polar bear — and the cheers inside the vehicle were louder than the wind. Memories made, spirits high, and another epic Churchill adventure in the books! ❄️🔥

Angela and her guests are out enjoying the fall colour show — everything glowing like a painting. Meanwhile, the polar bear cubs are running around with dirty little feet like they just finished a mud‑spa treatment. Churchill magic never stops.

Churchill’s summer season keeps surprising our worldwide visitors.
Other than the unforgettable encounters with polar bears and beluga whales, this week’s guests also enjoyed beautiful aurora shows during warm evenings.

Many visitors don’t realize this — in August you can watch northern lights in a light jacket, not only in the below –25°C cold of March. It’s the perfect mix: wildlife, whales, and aurora all in one comfortable summer trip, with families visiting from all over the world.

Churchill always has a way of giving a little extra.

Good summer season here — happy guests all together, enjoying polar bear viewing every day. The bears are so cooperative this year I’m thinking of putting them on payroll.

We also welcomed another wonderful group this week from France, Switzerland, and Germany. During the tour, we were delighted to discover two families captured together in one beautiful frame — a perfect moment of shared adventure and connection. It’s always special to see guests from different parts of the world enjoying Churchill’s wildlife side by side.

Churchill Summer tour season has officially started! Our lucky couple from Germany had an amazing day out with Angela — beautiful weather, great wildlife, and unforgettable moments in Churchill. — they spotted two bear families and even watched a young “singer bear” catching a goose up close. Churchill never disappoints.

This is a critical moment for the polar bears of Churchill. After months on land, they’ve been waiting for the sea ice to form so they can head out to hunt seals — their main source of food. The freeze-up marks the start of their hunting season, giving them the chance to rebuild strength and fat reserves that will carry them through the summer months when the ice melts again.
Wishing all the bears good luck as they return to the ice. May they eat well, stay strong, and come back healthy when they return to shore in July 2026.

It was disappointing to learn that the train was cancelled again last night due to track issues, forcing our Portugal group to detour to The Pas. We faced a similar situation just last week with our Austria group. Fortunately, I was able to secure 14 flight tickets from Thompson to Churchill to keep their itinerary on track.
