While our firefighters were busy battling the recent wildfire on Tintwistle Moor, Derby Mountain Rescue Team came across this BBQ at Dovedale.

With the current heatwave, Derbyshire's countryside and vegetation is tinder dry and even the smallest spark from a disposable BBQ, campfire or open fire could start a devastating wildfire.

Wildfires can spread quickly, threaten wildlife and habitats, put communities at risk and tie up emergency resources for hours or even days.

🚫 Please enjoy the countryside responsibly and leave BBQs, campfires and open fires at home.

🔥 One spark is all it takes.

An ideal base to explore the Peak District, Derbyshire dales and Nottinghamshire or just relax and take advantage of the large garden and access to local walks from the door.
