💙 Meet the Owners – Captains Keep

Some people come to Brixham for a holiday…

Others never quite leave. ❤️

The owners of Captains Keep were born in London before spending several years living in both the New Forest and Bath.

A few years ago, after watching Fishtown on Sky, they decided to visit Brixham to see what all the fuss was about.

They booked a stay in Captains Keep…

…and completely fell in love with both the apartment and the town.

In fact, they loved it so much that when the opportunity came up, they bought the very property they’d stayed in as guests.

And the story doesn’t end there.

After buying Captains Keep as a holiday home, they realised they wanted more than just weekends and holidays here.

In 2026, they made the move to Brixham full-time.

🏡 Today, Captains Keep is a beautifully presented apartment just a five-minute walk from the harbour, with something every Brixham visitor appreciates…

🚗 A private parking space.

Guests often comment on how surprisingly spacious it is inside, along with its relaxed nautical style and fantastic location close to everything Brixham has to offer.

Fishcombe Cove and Churston Cove have to be two of Brixham’s most beautiful spots.

It’s the sort of place where time slows down.

You come for a week.

Then you start looking at Rightmove.

You tell yourself you’re just curious.

Then you’re checking harbour-view cottages.

Then you’re working out whether you could squeeze a little fishing boat into the budget.

Then you’re telling friends:

“One day…”

Judging by the comments on this page, I’m not convinced anybody ever really leaves Brixham.

Friday Cottage is the sort of place where you arrive, put your bags down and forget about the car for a few days.

Wander down to the harbour for breakfast.

Spend the afternoon exploring Brixham’s winding streets, independent shops and waterfront.

Stop for a drink.

Then another.

Then wonder where the day went. 😅

Back at the cottage, there’s a sunny roof terrace waiting for a morning coffee or a glass of wine before dinner.

No rushing.

No schedules.

Just a few days of proper seaside living.

🐟 Planning a trip to Brixham for the South West Sardine Festival?

One of Brixham’s most unique events returns on Sunday 9th August 2026.

Picture long communal tables winding through the harbour, live music throughout the afternoon and evening, and freshly grilled sardines being cooked right on the quayside.

If you’re thinking of making a weekend of it, a couple of properties on Brixham Direct currently have availability:
