Who said curry night had to be just a chicken tikka masala?

Next Friday, 16th October, we're taking you on a culinary journey around the world, right here.

From Sri Lankan Devilled Prawns and Vietnamese Bánh Xèo to Malaysian Fish Kapitan, Lamb Maafé and Chicken Jalfrezi.

And because no good meal is complete without something sweet, we're finishing with desserts inspired by Thailand, the Caribbean and beyond! 😍

What’s coming up this autumn 🍂

October is here and we’ve got plenty happening over the next few months.

We’ve got quiz nights, our curry evening and live music from Jeanne Naylor, followed by Marmalade Jam in November and Cold Sugar between Christmas and New Year.

Our new set menu is running too, with 2 courses from £23, alongside our afternoon bar menu and full evening menu.

Then before we know it, we’ll be heading into December and finishing the year with live music on New Year’s Eve. 🍾

A little something for families this winter…

As we head into the quieter months, we wanted to do something to make getting everyone together for a meal a little easier.

So from 1st October until 1st March, for every adult main course ordered, one child can eat for just £1.

We’ve put together a small children’s menu with plenty of familiar classic favourites:

• Beef burger & fries
• Chicken or fish goujons & fries
• Passata pasta
• Macaroni cheese
• Sausage & chips
• Kids roast on Sundays

No restricted days and no early dining times. If we’re serving our normal menu, the offer is available.

We don’t want to change what we do or turn this into a big discount promotion. We simply want the pub to remain somewhere you can enjoy a quiet dinner, meet friends for a drink, settle in for Sunday lunch or bring the whole family.

And hopefully, making the kids’ dinner £1 makes those family meals out just that little bit easier through the winter.

The small print: One £1 children’s meal per adult main course ordered. Children 12 and under. Dine-in only. Available from our special children’s menu. Excludes special-event and set-menu services.

A late bit of summer for this Sunday ☀️🎶

September seems to be giving us one more warm Sunday, and we’re making the most of it.

Sonny Palmer will be playing live from 5pm, as the afternoon rolls into evening and we stretch the weekend out for just a little longer.

Come over for Sunday lunch, stay for a few drinks, or join us later for the music and a warm evening on the moor.

Curry Night — Friday 16th October 🌶️🌍

This time we’re taking the menu around the world, with dishes inspired by some of our favourite styles of cooking.

Sri Lankan devilled prawns, lamb kofta and Vietnamese bánh xèo to start, followed by fish kapitan, lamb maafé and chicken jalfrezi — with plenty of rice and naan on the table.

Then three desserts to finish, including Caribbean rum cake and Thai tea crème brûlée.

£38 per person for the full sharing menu.

We’ve only just started taking bookings and it’s already filling up fast, so get your table booked if you fancy joining us.

There’s something special about the pub as we head towards Christmas. 🎄

Dark evenings outside, the fires going, a busy bar, tables full of people catching up and the kitchen cooking the sort of food that just feels right at this time of year.

Our Christmas menu is ready, and we’ll be serving it from 28th November through to Christmas Eve.

We’ve kept it true to what we do — seasonal ingredients, proper cooking and plenty of comforting winter flavours, with a little bit of Christmas thrown in.

Whether it’s the work Christmas party, a long-overdue catch-up with friends, or simply getting everyone around the same table before the madness of Christmas begins, we’d love to have you.

2 courses £32 | 3 courses £38

Our normal à la carte menu will be available too, and we’ve got rooms upstairs if you fancy making a night of it.

Before we know it, the decorations will be up, the fires will be lit and Christmas will be in full swing.

What a brilliant afternoon yesterday 🍻🎶

We hope everyone who joined us for Hoodle had a great time. Good music, plenty of familiar faces and a lovely atmosphere — exactly how a Saturday should be.

And the Bank Holiday weekend isn’t finished yet…

We’ll be OPEN tomorrow, Bank Holiday Monday 31st August, with food and drinks from 4pm 🍽️🍺
