August & September at Aislaby Hall 🌸🐾🌿

My monthly roundups appear to have become a two-month roundup… which I’ve then completely forgotten to post! 🙈 But there are too many lovely moments not to share.

We had August’s solar eclipse, a beautiful family friend’s wedding with Mum, and a visit to The Flower Belt near Helmsley. Around 45 minutes from us, it’s a lovely little outing to add to your stay 💐

Closer to home, we enjoyed the local shows, with Puddles even coming home with a class win! 🏵️ There’s something so lovely about these countryside traditions, and they’re well worth planning a visit around if you’d like a taste of local life.

I’ve also been squeezing in early morning hacks before work, making the most of the summer sunshine with the horses. Then there are the quieter moments at home: the Hall’s garden, those valley views, and the mist rolling over the hills as summer slips into autumn 🤍

These are some of my favourite things about living here—and the little pieces of Yorkshire life we love sharing with our guests.

This weekend, Whitby is turning into a pirate’s playground for the Whitby Pirate Festival! ☠️🏴‍☠️

Expect pirates, spectacular costumes, live entertainment and plenty of swashbuckling around the harbour. It’s the perfect excuse for a weekend on the Yorkshire coast!

Spend the day exploring Whitby, soaking up the atmosphere, climbing the famous 199 Steps and enjoying the sea air… then head back to the comfort of Aislaby Hall Collection. 🏡✨

And before anyone asks about the beautiful pirate graphic accompanying this post… 😂

We absolutely love supporting our local agricultural shows, and yesterday we headed out to Egton Show for a lovely day! 🐴🌾

It was so lovely to see so many familiar faces and catch up with friends from the local community. And to top off a brilliant day, we even came home with a 1st place! 🏆

Our beautiful Puddles won the Veterans Class and we couldn’t be prouder of our old girl! 🐾❤️ She certainly still knows how to impress!

A wonderful day at a fantastic local show — already looking forward to the next one! 💕

July has been a busy month for us, but thankfully it also included a well-earned holiday. ☀️

While we love welcoming guests to our beautiful coastline, it’s important for us to take a little break too! This month we were lucky enough to spend some time in the South of France, and we both also enjoyed a little stopover in Amsterdam—separately, I might add… but we’ll leave that story for another day! 😉

Our summer tip? If you’re looking to escape the Whitby crowds and discover somewhere a little different, we’d highly recommend Saltburn. We went for a sunset walk and it was absolutely stunning. A beautiful beach, a lovely long pier, and a much quieter atmosphere. It was such a treat to discover somewhere so special right on our doorstep.

There are two places to stay at the venue:

The Garden Apartment, a cosy two-bedroom retreat, perfect for couples, small families and peaceful breaks.

Aislaby Hall, a stunning five-bedroom property, ideal for larger families, group getaways and special stays near the coast.

For special occasions, the Garden Apartment can also be booked alongside Aislaby Hall to accommodate up to 14 guests.

You get the best of both worlds: calm countryside surroundings, walks and village charm, with Whitby, the coast and the North York Moors all close by.
