Follow NCDOT NC 12 for updates on weather on Hatteras Island and surrounding areas! Be safe! 🌬️ 🌊

Unfortunately, this morning's high tide has caused a breach in the dune at the Pea Island Visitor Center, causing major ocean overwash in that area. NC12 is now CLOSED between the Basnight Bridge and Rodanthe. We expect similar conditions over the next several high tide cycles.
