Throwback Thursday 🃏🥃

For this Throwback Thursday, we’re focusing on the other historic table in our Mural Room—the T.W. Samuels Table!

The table was originally owned by T.W. Samuels and was specially made with a clever feature: drinks could be placed beneath the tabletop, keeping playing cards safe from spills during a game.

Over the years, local legends are said to have gathered around this very table to play cards, including Frank James, brother of Jesse James.

Next time you’re dining with us, take a closer look at this unique piece of local history. If only this table could talk! 🥃🃏

Throwback Thursday 🕰️

This table has quite a story to tell! General George S. Patton was a frequent visitor to the Talbott Tavern while stationed at Fort Knox, often making the trip to Bardstown for lunch.

After his death in 1945, Patton’s former driver returned to the Tavern and placed a plaque on the very table where the General had dined.

Today, you can still see The General’s Table in our Mural Room, along with the original plaque—a little piece of history that has remained right here at the Talbott Tavern.

The Bardstown Scarecrow Trail is ready for visitors TODAY! Now open through Nov. 6, the trail closes daily at dusk.

Enjoy a drive-through display of more than 70 scarecrows, created by local artists, local businesses and the creative team of The Stephen Foster Story—and then vote for your favorite!
