Thank you to everyone who has reached out with your kind thoughts and well wishes regarding the Timber Fire in Big Sur.

Fortunately, there is currently no imminent threat to Post Ranch Inn. However, due to restricted access on Highway 1 and a standing evacuation order resulting from the fire, Post Ranch has temporarily suspended hotel and restaurant operations. Our team continues to closely monitor conditions as firefighters and local law enforcement work to contain the fire and ensure the safety of the Big Sur community.

We are deeply grateful to the men and women of Big Sur Fire, CAL FIRE, law enforcement, and all responding agencies for their tireless efforts to protect the Big Sur community. During times like these, it is inspiring to see our neighbors and local businesses come together and support one another in any way they can. We look forward to welcoming guests back as soon as it is confirmed safe to do so.

Some very exciting news from the kitchen at Sierra Mar. MICHELIN has named Sierra Mar a Green Star restaurant, recognizing kitchens whose vision and approach are shaping the future of gastronomy. Sierra Mar joins just two other California restaurants honored this year, spotlighting the chefs and kitchens shaping the future of responsible dining. MICHELIN noted that the Green Star highlights restaurants that have stood out for their forward-looking approach, helping to build a community of kitchens committed to advancing the culinary industry collectively.

Culinary Director Reylon Agustin and Executive Chef Hoon Il Kang have built a kitchen around the rhythm of this coastline, utilizing fresh ingredients from our own Chef's Garden, while developing relationships with local purveyors, to present a menu each day that changes with what the land and water provide. It's a fitting tribute to a kitchen that has always let Big Sur lead the way.

Two Kitchens. One Coastline.

Join us May 26 & 27 as we welcome Executive Chef Kyle St. John of The Ranch at Laguna Beach to Post Ranch Inn for The California Table, an exclusive two-night event celebrating the ingredients, landscapes, and stewardship practices that define world-class dining along the California coast.

The event unfolds on the afternoon of May 26 for bites and local pours in the Chef's Garden. The following night, the two chefs move into Sierra Mar for a collaborative menu featuring ingredients and philosophies that have shaped their respective kitchens.

The garden event is for hotel guests, while the Sierra Mar dinner is open to anyone with a restaurant reservation. Very limited seating remaining. Reservations at the link in bio.

There are places that remind you what really matters. Big Sur is one of them.

Standing at the edge of the world, where the mountains fade into the sea and the fog moves through the redwoods like it has somewhere to be, it's difficult not to feel both the wonder and the weight of the natural world. It shapes how we build, how we operate, and what we ask of ourselves as stewards of this particular corner of California.

Sustainability, for us, has never been a program, a checklist or a talking point. It's the reason the property looks and feels the way it does. It's the reason the Chef's Garden exists, the reason the land around us is managed the way it is, the reason we give back to the community.

We don't always get it perfect. But the intention is genuine, and the commitment is long.

On Earth Day, we hope you'll find a moment to step outside, breathe deeply, and let the world remind you of what's worth protecting.
